Radd Minker

Radd Minker, a male Brubb Jedi Knight, served the New Jedi Order during the year 43 ABY. This Jedi Knight was present within the Jedi Archives located in the Jedi Temple on Coruscant, the galactic capital. It was there that Jysella Horn, the daughter of Jedi Master Corran Horn and Mirax Terrik Horn, experienced a mental breakdown causing her to perceive her fellow Jedi as imposters. Along with Falleen Jedi Natua Wan, Minker tried to prevent her from escaping the temple. However, Horn's desperation allowed her to break free, only to be apprehended by Galactic Alliance Security soon after. Some days later, Minker and Wan were escorting the Solo family to the Coruscant Livestock Exchange and Exhibition when Wan succumbed to the same mental breakdown that Jysella Horn had previously suffered. Wan's actions led to panic and chaos at the Exhibition, and Minker played a vital role in subduing the now-rogue Jedi Knight.

Biography

Encounter with Jysella Horn

Jysella Horn, Jedi Knight

Radd Minker, a Brubb who was Force-sensitive and male, underwent training to become a Jedi. He eventually became a member of the New Jedi Order under the guidance of Luke Skywalker. By the time 43 ABY arrived, he had achieved the rank of Jedi Knight and resided in the Jedi Temple situated on Coruscant, the planet serving as the capital of the Galactic Federation of Free Alliances. Minker's presence was recorded in the Jedi Archives when Jysella Horn, a Jedi Knight and daughter of Jedi Master Corran Horn, suffered a mental breakdown, leading her to believe that imposters had replaced her fellow Jedi. Her brother, Valin Horn, had experienced a similar breakdown weeks prior, leading to his imprisonment by the Galactic Alliance and subsequent freezing in carbonite. As she attempted to flee the Temple, Minker, together with Natua Wan, a Falleen Jedi Knight, tried to restrain and confine her.

Horn initially incapacitated Wan by utilizing the Force to throw a bust of a deceased Jedi at her, striking the Falleen in the torso. Subsequently, Horn employed the Force once more to hurl numerous datatapes at Minker. While the Brubb deflected these improvised projectiles, Horn launched her activated lightsaber towards him. Just as Horn leaped over him, Minker managed to raise his own weapon in time to parry the attack. Reclaiming her weapon, Horn escaped the archives. Minker pursued her, discovering that Horn had locked the door she fled through, using her lightsaber to fuse the controls on the other side, preventing anyone from following. Minker immediately began cutting through the door with his own weapon, but the doors had been designed to prevent intruders from accessing the Temple, and were not easy to breach, even with a lightsaber. Minker was still cutting through the door when Jedi Master Cilghal arrived, and Minker apologized to the Master for the delay in continuing the chase after Horn. Cilghal, who had sensed that Horn had bolted, ignited her own lightsaber and assisted Minker in cutting through the door. Despite their efforts, Horn managed to escape the Temple, and was captured by Galactic Alliance Security.

Escorting the Solo family

Not long after the incident concerning Jysella Horn, Minker received the assignment of escorting the Solo family—comprising Leia Organa Solo, Han Solo, their daughter Jaina Solo, and their adopted ward Amelia Solo—during their visit to the Coruscant Livestock Exchange and Exhibition held at the Grand Event Center. Jedi Natua Wan was also part of the group, with her focus on Amelia, while Minker secured the rear. Given their official capacity, both Minker and Wan wore their formal Jedi robes in brown and white. As they moved through the exhibition, Minker spotted Javis Tyrr, a journalist who had documented Horn's actions outside the Jedi Temple, building a career on reporting about Jedi behavior. Minker suggested having a word with Tyrr to discourage him from bothering the family, but Jaina Solo argued that such action would only embolden the journalist. Minker remained alert for Tyrr's presence as the group entered the section of the exhibition showcasing dangerous animals like Nexu and Rancors.

While the group observed a Nexu and her four cubs, Minker experienced a warning prickle through the Force. He noticed that Leia Organa Solo and Jaina Solo also sensed the feeling, and he immediately grasped his lightsaber. As the three Jedi turned to see if Wan had felt the same sensation, they found her missing. Wan had suddenly succumbed to the same psychosis that the Horn siblings suffered from and was viewing the other members of the group as impostors. Leaving the group, she used her Jedi authority to gain access to the control room of the dangerous animals exhibit. The animals were kept in separate transparisteel pens, with a viewing walkway above the enclosures. Wan activated the exhibits' system for feeding the animals, which opened the pens, while at the same time slowly retracting the walkway into the wall and dropping food from the ceiling. She also plunged the exhibit into darkness and locked the emergency exits. As the gathered crowd began to panic, Organa Solo ordered Minker to begin cutting through the emergency exit closest to their position. Complying, Minker began using his lightsaber to create an exit while Organa Solo used the Force to keep the stampeding crowd back to allow him to work. The Brubb was successful in creating an exit, which in turn stopped the walkways from retracting. Minker's actions allowed the crowd to escape the exhibition hall safely.

With the dangerous animals exhibit cleared, Minker headed for the main exhibition hall where the domesticated pack animals were kept. Wan had opened the animal corrals, causing the animals to stampede and endanger the patrons that had gathered for the exhibition. Minker arrived just as Wan was facing off against Jaina Solo and her mother. The Brubb asked Wan to surrender, citing that she faced three-to-one odds; in response, Wan lunged at Jaina Solo. Both female Solos brought their blades down on Wan's in unison, staggering the Falleen Jedi. At that point, Minker jumped at Wan from behind, slamming his hard head into the back of hers, rendering Wan unconscious. The Solos were surprised with Minker's tactic, but admitted that it had done the job. He then assisted in escorting Wan to the Jedi Temple, where she was interred in the Detention Center.
