Rancor bramble

Rancor bramble was a spiny plant of green and brown coloration, a species that was indigenous to the islands of Wasskah, a moon, where it created entire forests. These brambles served as hosts to numerous parasitic lifeforms, notably including Marina Rung flowers that developed upon them. Creatures such as momongs and convorees also inhabited the brambles, and in certain areas, the plant even gave rise to intertwined caves of a size sufficient for sentients to dwell within. During the time of the Clone Wars, Padawans named Jinx, O-Mer, and Kalifa established a temporary shelter within one of these caves on Island Four after being taken as prisoners by Trandoshan hunters and then abandoned on the moon. Ahsoka Tano, another Jedi, spent a night with them, after which Kalifa was killed by the Trandoshans and the rest managed to leave Wasskah.

Behind the scenes

The initial appearance of rancor bramble occurred in "Padawan Lost," which was the twenty-first episode of the third season of the Star Wars: The Clone Wars animated television show, broadcasted on April 1, 2011. The 2017 reference work titled Star Wars: The Visual Encyclopedia provided the first identification of the plant.
