Rescue of Dhara Leonis

The Dhara Leonis rescue operation centered around liberating Zare Leonis's sister, Dhara Leonis, from Imperial imprisonment. This imprisonment occurred within Area Null of the Arkanis Academy, located on the planet Arkanis. Assisting Zare Leonis in this endeavor were his longtime friend, Beck Ollet, his girlfriend Merei Spanjaf, her mother, and a rebellious faction known as "the Spectres."

Background

Dhara Leonis was a young woman with Force-sensitive abilities who, like her parents, desired to serve the Galactic Empire. Following her family's relocation to the planet Lothal, she enrolled in the Academy for Young Imperials, quickly demonstrating her potential as a candidate. Her abilities caught the attention of the Inquisitor, a formidable dark side adept serving as Grand Inquisitor for the Galactic Empire. As part of Project Harvester, an Imperial initiative to identify and exploit Force-sensitive individuals, the Inquisitor abducted her. However, Dhara resisted this exploitation, enduring severe mistreatment at the Inquisitor's hands.

Upon Dhara's disappearance, her brother, Zare Leonis, joined Lothal's Academy for Young Imperials to investigate the circumstances. With the assistance of his girlfriend, Merei Spanjaf, he uncovered the truth about his sister's abduction and her confinement at the Arkanis Academy on the planet Arkanis. After rigorous training at the Academy for Young Imperials, Leonis secured a transfer to the Arkanis Academy, unaware that this transfer was orchestrated as part of the same program that led to his sister's kidnapping. Unbeknownst to Leonis, his transfer was approved because the Inquisitor suspected him of treasonous acts against the Empire. During his time at the Arkanis Academy, Leonis discovered a secret organization known as the Commandant's Cadets and learned that the Inquisitor had been killed by rebels. Just as he seemed to be nearing his objective, he was exposed as a traitor. His friend, Beck Ollet, had been captured by the Empire and subjected to brainwashing under Project Unity, compelling him to support the Empire. Ollet recognized Leonis during his induction into the Commandant's Cadets and revealed his true purpose for joining the Empire.

Leonis was subsequently expelled from Imperial service and sentenced to death by firing squad. Imprisoned, he was offered a final meal of his choosing, delivered by a person of his choice. He requested two jogan fruits delivered by Ollet. He then used the scent of the fruits to evoke memories of the Empire's destruction of Ollet's family's jogan fruit orchards. This act shattered the Empire's conditioning, reuniting the two friends, who then devised a plan to escape and rescue Dhara Leonis.

The Confrontation

Leonis and Ollet initiated their plan. They broke out of their cell and subdued two stormtrooper guards, utilizing techniques learned in grav-ball. Proceeding to the detention block, they neutralized the stormtroopers stationed there. Leonis used the computers to locate his sister, but a ship landed on the tower during his search. Rushing to find the crucial information, Leonis was locked out of the system. Just as their rescue mission seemed doomed, they discovered that the ship had brought reinforcements: Leonis's girlfriend, Merei Spanjaf, her mother, and three members of the rebellious group known as "the Spectres," who had assassinated the Inquisitor. They quickly formulated a new plan, leveraging their combined skills for a greater chance of success. As the group divided to execute the plan, Spanjaf employed her slicing skills to determine that Dhara was held in cell seventeen. She continued her efforts to disable the lockdown. Leonis likened their situation to a losing grav-ball game, but Spanjaf reminded him that only the final score mattered.

Spanjaf successfully unlocked the cell, and Leonis rushed to cell seventeen, finding his sister, Dhara. The dimly lit cell revealed Dhara in poor condition, agitated and disoriented. She believed her brother was a hallucination, a deception by the Inquisitor, but Zare informed her of the Inquisitor's death and that their Mom and Dad were awaiting them. Trembling, Dhara rose and embraced Zare, recognizing him. As they left the cell, Imperial forces closed in. They were intercepted by stormtroopers, as was their backup, with TIE fighters approaching. Trapped, Ollet prepared a desperate gambit, intending to use a grenade provided by Sabine Wren. Although the move would likely cost him his life, he was willing to sacrifice himself, believing that the others' survival could ignite a fire that would consume the Empire. Without hesitation, he charged the Empire's control room, eliminating the troops but sacrificing himself in the process. Zare's final glimpse of his friend was of an arm clutching a jogan blossom sprig.

Searching for an escape route, the group found an auxiliary elevator opening to reveal four stormtroopers and Lieutenant Chiron, an instructor who had been Zare's strongest supporter at Lothal's Imperial Academy. Chiron declared that it was over, but Zare, sensing an opportunity, presented Chiron with his sister Dhara. Knowing Chiron's reservations about certain Imperial practices, he hoped to sway him, but Chiron remained steadfast. Despite his pained reaction to Zare's assertion that the Empire he believed in was an illusion, he vowed to fulfill his duty. Dhara, however, had reached her limit. Screaming in rage and agony, she tapped into the power of the Force, unleashing a barrage of rocks and metal in a telekinesis pummeling attack on the Imperial group, killing them all. Exhausted and disoriented, she clung to her brother as the group entered the elevator and boarded a heavily modified freight hauler piloted by the Ithorian Old Jho. By the time the TIE fighters reached the tower, the group was far away.

Consequences

Spanjaf's father, Gandr, began the process of creating new identities for the Spanjafs and Leonises. Meanwhile, she and Zare Leonis pondered their future. Their knowledge of the Empire left them feeling compelled to continue the fight. Spanjaf possessed information that could severely damage the Empire: thousands of classified documents stolen from the Imperial network on Lothal using her forged Imperial credentials. The group arrived in Garel City on the planet Garel, where Dhara Leonis shared a heartfelt embrace with her parents, urging them to never let go.
