Riley was a thief who was a female of the human species. She was active during the reign of the Galactic Empire. On the mining colony of Burnin Konn, Riley and her younger sibling were orphaned. They both were well known for their thieving abilities, until Riley fell from a building and suffered an injury. To make up for this injury, she obtained a cybernetic leg brace. She became mostly a planner after this event.
After the Battle of Endor had occurred, Riley met with the Irving Boys within the Anoat sector. She was to work for them as an apprentice, but they abandoned her at the last wayfarers' node. Luckily, she still had the "onboarding pack" that the Irving Boys had given to her. This pack contained a waterproof poncho, a hyperspace sextant, a Huttese phrase book, a fake piloting license template, a spice purity testing kit, an insulated Devaronian Explorers starscatter bedroll, and a Smuggler's Guide logbook. Due to her prior work with the Ivax Syndicate, Riley looked for the Red Key Raiders. She admired this syndicate for their work in dismantling the Hutt Syndicate and wanted to collaborate with them in some way. Riley then searched for the Gabdorin called Quiggold, believing that he might have connections to the Red Key Raiders. Instead, Quiggold directed her to the Gray Gundarks for employment in exchange for a satchel holding the Smuggler's Guide. She then documented her adventures in the logbook.
The voice actress for Riley was Catherine Taber.
Riley was consistently shown as a human with fair skin in the promotional materials for the game. The reference book Star Wars: Smuggler's Guide from 2018 ultimately verified this.
Riley's appearance in Star Wars: Uprising is determined by the species and skin tone/color selected by the player for their character. The Smuggler's gender does not affect Riley's gender.
