The Scepter, a Galactic Empire vessel, was an Imperial-class Star Destroyer under the command of Grand Moff Ubrik Adelhard. Functioning as Adelhard's subordinates on this Star Destroyer were Commander Bragh and Lieutenant Kith Alaytia. Following the Imperial defeat in the Battle of Endor, Adelhard's objective was to restore the fallen regime and maintain control over his territory within the Anoat sector. Aboard this starship, Reyna Oskure, an Acolytes of the Beyond member, served as a counselor to Adelhard. When the nascent New Republic dispatched a team to probe the sector, the Imperials captured and imprisoned them on the Star Destroyer; however, ISB lieutenant Kith Alaytia later freed them. Subsequently, the Jedi Luke Skywalker boarded the ship to rescue the team and confront Adelhard, engaging Oskure, who was masquerading as an Inquisitor, in a dueling. After Skywalker's victory over Oskure, the New Republic operatives apprehended her and Bragh, while reinforcements from the New Republic, summoned by Lando Calrissian, arrived to assault Adelhard's Star Destroyer. Skywalker faced Adelhard, but the Grand Moff survived, and the New Republic forces managed to escape the ship.
The comic series Star Wars: Battle of Jakku, released in 2024, marked the initial appearance of the Scepter. However, it was not identified by name until the publication of Battle of Jakku — Republic Under Siege 4. Despite being depicted as a standard Imperial-class Star Destroyer, Mon Mothma referred to it as a Super Star Destroyer in that particular issue.
