Sev'eere'nuruodo

Sev'eere'nuruodo, known by her core name Veeren, was a Chiss female and member of the Aristocra within the Nuruodo family during the period of the Clone Wars. During 21 BBY, she engaged in communication with Palpatine, the Supreme Chancellor of the Galactic Republic, and consented to a meeting with a Republic representative within Chiss territory. Veeren's meeting took place with Nuru Kungurama, a Jedi Padawan, and Breakout Squad at Defense Force Station Ifpe'a. Amidst the negotiations, during which Veeren maintained a detached stance and declined to participate in the war, the Station came under attack by a fleet belonging to the Techno Union. Veeren was rendered unconscious and subsequently awakened in hyperspace aboard the Hasty Harpy, the ship of Breakout Squad, captained by Lalo Gunn. Believing herself to be a victim of kidnapping, Veeren disregarded Kungurama's attempts to offer reassurance.

The Hasty Harpy was soon forcibly extracted from hyperspace by the gravitational pull of a black hole, where they encountered pirates who had been trapped for an extended period. Breakout Squad made the decision to collaborate with the pirates in an effort to escape their predicament. The pirates guided them to an ancient Infinity Gate, which they successfully utilized to achieve their escape. Following this, Veeren concluded her association with Breakout Squad.

Subsequently, Breakout Squad embarked on a mission to Vaced that was destined for failure. Following this, they successfully seized Bilbringi Depot from the Techno Union. During their celebration, they observed the approach of an unidentified vessel. Upon its landing, Veeren emerged and disclosed to Kungurama that she had been monitoring his movements in order to convey crucial information. Her examination of recent occurrences led her to the conclusion that they were all subjects of manipulation. She advised the Padawan to conduct an investigation, maintaining secrecy due to the potential presence of spies. Veeren then departed without providing further clarification. As her ship departed the Depot, another ship, carrying Ring-Sol Ambase, Kungurama's master, arrived. Veeren initiated an attack on the other ship without causing any damage. The retaliatory fire from the other vessel obliterated her ship, resulting in her apparent death. Ambase then departed from the area, although Veeren had orchestrated the illusion of her death. She later paid a visit to Chancellor Palpatine on Coruscant to voice her concerns regarding the conspiracy and the potential for an alliance between the Republic and the Chiss.

Biography

The Arrival of the Clone Wars in Chiss Space

During 21 BBY, Sev'eere'nuruodo, whose core name was "Veeren", served as a female Chiss and held the position of Aristocra within the Nuruodo family amidst the backdrop of the Clone Wars. The Chiss Ascendancy established contact with Palpatine, the Supreme Chancellor of the Galactic Republic, during that year. In the course of a discussion with the Chancellor, Veeren gave her consent to a meeting with a representative from the Republic. Consequently, she furnished the coordinates of Defense Force Station Ifpe'a to the Chancellor and made her way to the station.

Shortly thereafter, a starship named Hasty Harpy, carrying the Republic's envoy, the Chiss Jedi Padawan Nuru Kungurama, arrived. Veeren proceeded to the hangar in order to welcome the Jedi. However, she soon came to the realization that Kungurama differed significantly from a "typical" Chiss and lacked any experience as an ambassador. Veeren opted to keep their conversation brief, stating that the Chiss would maintain neutrality in the Clone Wars. Subsequently, she dismissed Nuru and his escort of Clone troopers, Breakout Squad. Nevertheless, as the Hasty Harpy prepared for departure, the space station was subjected to an attack by forces of the Confederacy of Independent Systems. Veeren attempted to use her datapad to obtain a status update, but one of the clone troopers tackled her before the datapad exploded. As she made impact with the ground, she lost consciousness. Eventually, she regained consciousness and found herself aboard the Hasty Harpy. She then attempted to exit her cabin and return to the station, but a clone trooper restrained her. Moments later, the Hasty Harpy initiated a jump into Hyperspace. Veeren subsequently disregarded the efforts of Nuru and Lalo Gunn, the captain of the Hasty Harpy, to explain the "kidnapping," as Veeren perceived it, and refused to believe that the station had been destroyed.

After some time spent in hyperspace, an unexpected anomaly caused the Hasty Harpy to revert from hyperspace. Upon reviewing the notifications, the crew discovered a black hole holding them captive, and shortly thereafter, they also detected a group of pirates. Gunn and Kungurama then managed to persuade Veeren to cooperate. However, the pirates had no intention of robbing them; on the contrary, the pirate leader Hethra Mcgrrrr requested that they join the gang, as no one could escape the system due to the pull of the nearby black hole. Gunn accepted the offer. When the pirates learned that Kungurama was a Jedi, they hoped to free their ships from the pull of the black hole which prevented the jump to hyperspace. Now the pirates wanted to use an Infinity Gate, which two marooned Sullustan archaeologists had discovered to leave the system. On Plundermoon Kungurama activated the Gate and the Hasty Harpy jumped back to Defense Force Station Ifpe'a, where the fleet of pirate ships defeated Overseer Umbrag and his Techno Union armada. Subsequently, Veeren was able to depart from the crew of the Hasty Harpy and return to Chiss space.

Encounter with Kungurama

Following the Hasty Harpy's departure from Chiss space, its crew undertook an escort mission to Vaced. The rebuilt droid Cleaver discovered a tracking device on the ship. After Vaced, the crew went to Bilbringi Depot to search for Kungurama's missing Master. Breakout Squad liberated the Depot from the Techno Union. As the squad was celebrating, they spotted a vessel approaching the hangar and concealed themselves. When it landed, Aristocra Veeren disembarked. She greeted a surprised Kungurama and said she came unarmed and that the others could reveal themselves; she revealed it was she who had placed the tracking device on the Hasty Harpy that was now on Cleaver. When Kungurama asked why she was following them, she replied it was so she could follow them and reveal important information. She had analyzed recent events and concluded that there was a probability someone was manipulating them all in a conspiracy dating back eleven years; she then suggested Kungurama should investigate. When the Padawan suggested that she should go to Coruscant and pass on this information, she interrupted and said they should tell no one, then immediately turned to go. A confused Kungurama tried to ask for more information, but Veeren replied that based on his query, he understood perfectly. Boarding her ship, she took off.

Subsequently, another ship arrived in the area, carrying Ring-Sol Ambase, Kungurama's master. Veeren fired three laser beams at it, which did not damage the ship. The other ship returned fire and destroyed Veeren's ship. Ambase, sensing his Padawan's shock at the demise of the Aristocra and mistaking the shock for a betrayal, fled the area. Unbeknownst to Kungurama, though, Veeren faked her death. She detonated the outer hull of the ship and made a microjump into hyperspace to escape.

Covert Meeting with Chancellor Palpatine

Veeren later traveled to Coruscant to express her concerns about the conspiracy to Chancellor Palpatine, although she had ceased to believe in the conspiracy. She requested that he keep her survival a secret and discussed the possibility of forming an alliance between the Chiss and the Republic. She indicated that the alliance might occur after the conclusion of the Clone Wars and then departed.

Personality and Characteristics

Veeren exhibited a haughty and detached demeanor, displaying suspicion towards outsiders and placing trust only in her fellow Chiss, while also maintaining secrecy. Following her rescue, she declined to cooperate with the crew of the Hasty Harpy. She was attired in a black uniform.

On one occasion, she reacted negatively to Kungurama's mispronunciation of her title. She demonstrated a willingness to risk her life by traveling alone to Bilbringi Depot but was unwilling to share confidential information with outsiders. She concealed her survival from Kungurama but was willing to entrust Chancellor Palpatine with her secret.
