SigTel was the intelligence branch for naval operations within the Hapan Royal Navy of the Hapes Consortium, specifically dealing with naval matters. During the events of 41 ABY, this group was essential to the success of the Battle of Uroro Station, a pivotal conflict that brought the Second Galactic Civil War to its conclusion.
A complex plot unfolded amidst the chaos of a nanovirus attack that targeted the Hapan royal flagship, the Dragon Queen. This plot involved the Moff Council of the Imperial Remnant and the Hapan commanders tasked with defending the planet Shedu Maad.
The Moffs, who were orchestrating the battle from the Galactic Alliance command ship, the Anakin Solo, established communication with Ducha Requud. Requud commanded the Hapan forces in orbit from her flagship, the Deserving Gem. It appeared that Requud was prepared to betray the Jedi Coalition and, with the backing of the Imperials, attempt to seize the throne.
The conspiracy also reached General Livette, the Hapan commander stationed on the surface of Shedu Maad. Livette permitted an Imperial strike team to land and launch an assault on the Jedi base located on the planet.
SigTel officers were able to disrupt the conspiracy when they noticed a series of transmissions occurring between the two flagships. While it remains uncertain if they fully understood the content of the messages, they accurately deduced the implications of the contact. Hapan Security was immediately alerted.
Consequently, agents loyal to the Hapan crown, who were aboard the Deserving Gem, apprehended Requud. Simultaneously, Hapan Security agents Taryn and Trista Zel intervened to prevent General Livette from taking any further actions to support the Imperials on Shedu Maad.
