Skeleton weed was a type of shrub species indigenous to the planet of Onderon, recognizable by the large perforations in its foliage, giving the leaves a skeletal, bone-like appearance. This blue-gray plant, skeleton weed, typically grew in groups across the landscape of Onderon. You could discover skeleton weed in forests, within compact gardens located in the city of Iziz, and also within the mountains close to a base established by the Onderon rebels during the time of the Clone Wars.
The initial appearance of skeleton weed was in "A War on Two Fronts," the second episode from Star Wars: The Clone Wars television show's fifth season, which was originally broadcast on October 6, 2012. Subsequently, the plant was featured in the subsequent three episodes of the series. However, it was not officially named until the publication of Star Wars: The Visual Encyclopedia, a reference work authored by Adam Bray, Tricia Barr, and Cole Horton, which was made available on April 4, 2017.
