Skuhl

Skuhl was a planetary body situated within the Outer Rim Territories of the galaxy, recognized as a planet.

Description

Skuhl, found in the Outer Rim, was a relatively flat world, largely defined by its expanses of blue-green grasslands. A town existed on Skuhl, featuring a refinery and a diner. The town's most prominent feature was its main street, adorned with hanging baskets of flowers and bells suspended from poles. A small spaceport, accommodating smaller shuttles and planet hoppers, was situated on one side of the town. Conversely, a substantial hangar was located on a hill outside the town, incorporating a cargo warehouse, a factory, several shops, a diner, and residential spaces. Akshaya Ponta housed her ship, the Ponta One, at this location.

Akshaya resided in a house with her son Hadder and daughter Tanith Ponta, the latter of whom ultimately died from an overdose of hadeira serum, a medication used to treat bloodburn. The house was painted a bright blue, resembling the skies of Skuhl, and featured a red door and yellow patterns around the windows.

History

During the Imperial Era, Skuhl maintained its status as a neutral planet. Due to its distance from the Galactic Empire's active zones, the inhabitants of Skuhl were largely independent.

Following her abandonment by Saw Gerrera during a mission on Tamsye Prime, Jyn Erso journeyed to a nearby planet. There, she successfully persuaded Akshaya Ponta to employ her. After assisting Akshaya in avoiding a fine by falsifying her Imperial clearance codes, Akshaya became aware of Jyn's situation and decided to provide her with shelter. Jyn then lived with Akshaya and Hadder.

Subsequently, Xosad Hozem, a former colleague of Jyn's, arrived on Skuhl to enlist fighters for their partisan movements. Simultaneously, Berk, another associate of Gerrera's, traveled to Skuhl to observe Jyn and ensure her well-being. Shortly thereafter, the Empire's presence expanded to Skuhl as they continued to seize mining operations in the surrounding area, including several operations where Akshaya facilitated ore transport to the Skuhl refinery. Eventually, the Empire forcibly took control of the refinery and later searched the Ponta's home for Jyn. The family attempted to flee Skuhl, but Akshaya and Hadder were both killed, leaving Jyn alone once again.

Society and culture

The people of Skuhl were known for their friendliness and trust. Residents knew each other well and frequently engaged in conversations in public spaces. There was no perceived need for locals to lock their homes or secure their ships, as mutual trust and respect were prevalent.
