A group of hired guns, known as mercenaries, attempted a surprise offensive against the property where the mercenary named Saponza and the crew led by Saponza's associate were residing. Fortunately, the crew received advance notice of the assault from their allies, enabling them to successfully repel the enemy forces.
Following the Battle of Yavin, Saponza, a Human, and their associate led a gang of mercenaries who chose to support the Alliance to Restore the Republic in the Galactic Civil War. A rival mercenary group, operating on the planet of Tatooine where Saponza and their associate had established their base, opposed the rebellion's presence. Shortly after Saponza's gang completed a mission to address a surge in womp rat attacks affecting the local population, Jennica Pierce contacted them, warning of an impending surprise attack on Saponza's property planned by the opposing mercenaries.
Almost immediately after the warning, Saponza's and their partner's forces found themselves under attack from blaster-wielding mercenaries. The defenses in place at the homestead proved effective, resulting in the death of seven attackers, though some managed to escape.
In the wake of the assault, Saponza and their associate began preparations for a retaliatory strike. They improved their troop transport capabilities to allow for the assembly of a larger fighting force. While the gang expanded their ranks, their allies dispatched scouts to locate the enemy mercenary bases. Upon discovering the locations, Saponza and their forces launched a counteroffensive, initially destroying the smaller of the two bases before moving on to eliminate the other.
The attack was initially featured as a mission within Star Wars: Commander, a mobile strategy game launched by Disney Interactive in 2014.
