Droideka Sharpshooter

The Droideka Sharpshooter, also known by names such as sharpshooter droideka, sniper droid, or sharpshooter droid, represented a specialized form of the droideka unit, designed specifically for sniping roles. In contrast to the standard droideka, it was armed with a centrally mounted blaster rifle and relied on its armored plating for frontal defense during combat, forgoing the use of deflector shields. These sharpshooter droidekas served within the Separatist forces under the command of the Zygerrian leader Darts D'Nar on the planet Kiros.

Description

A Droideka Sharpshooter

Sharpshooter Droideka units, standing at 1.87 meters, were a variant of the droideka manufactured by the Colicoid Creation Nest. This droid was protected by armor, which acted as a shield against blaster fire, but this design made them vulnerable to attacks from the flanks due to the absence of the shield projector found on other droideka models. Their ability to roll into position allowed them to surprise enemies, making them most effective when stationed in concealed locations for long-range target elimination.

When deployed in advantageous positions, the droideka could effectively eliminate key targets, including Jedi, and their precision was significantly greater than that of standard droidekas. Furthermore, their single, powerful rifle was capable of penetrating multiple targets with a single shot.

However, despite their effectiveness as sniper units, the Confederacy of Independent Systems utilized Droideka Sharpshooters less frequently compared to other droideka types. This was mainly due to the droid's reduced adaptability and the need for more meticulous tactical planning for their deployment.

Behind the scenes
