Spellhaus, a celestial body, served as a location for a power station operated by the Galactic Empire. In the year 5 BBY, Anto Kreegyr, at the head of a rebel cell, initiated reconnaissance of the power station and started formulating plans for an assault. Luthen Rael, a rebel agent, attempted, without success, to enlist the Partisans, a separate rebel group. Meanwhile, the Imperial Security Bureau (ISB) of the Empire became aware of Kreegyr's intentions and began preparations for a surprise counter-attack. Despite being informed of the ISB's awareness, Rael made the decision to allow Kreegyr and his cell to proceed into the ambush and face total destruction to protect his informant.
During the Imperial Era, under the control of the Galactic Empire, the astronomical object Spellhaus accommodated an Imperial power station. Around 5 BBY, Anto Kreegyr, the leader of a rebel cell with Separatist leanings, commenced investigations into the power station, convinced that he had discovered a viable method to attack and destroy it. Luthen Rael, a rebel operative overseeing a clandestine network that linked Kreegyr's group with others, found out about the plans and tried to recruit Saw Gerrera and his rebel group, known as the Partisans. Gerrera declined because of disagreements with Kreegyr's ideology.
However, the Empire's Imperial Security Bureau (ISB) managed to uncover Kreegyr's scheme to attack Spellhaus after a rebel pilot belonging to his cell was captured and interrogated by the Empire. The ISB devised a plan to ambush Kreegyr's group and staged an accident to conceal the pilot's disappearance. Soon after, Rael received information about this situation from a mole within the ISB, but he decided to let Kreegyr proceed as planned in order to protect the mole's identity.
Gerrera soon changed his mind and agreed to participate in Kreegyr's attack, summoning Rael to make arrangements. However, the agent stopped the Partisan leader, persuading his associate to prioritize a longer-term strategy with the ISB. The following day, Kreegyr led his group in an attack on Spellhaus, walking directly into the Empire's prepared trap. All the rebels involved were killed as a consequence, and the ISB board celebrated their victory from their headquarters located on the Imperial capital planet of Coruscant.
Spellhaus was first mentioned in "Narkina 5", which is the eighth episode of the first season of the live-action Disney+ series Andor created by Tony Gilroy. Toby Haynes directed this episode, which was released on October 26, 2022.
