Star Wars: Jedi vs. Sith

Jedi vs. Sith, a comic book series, was brought to the public by Dark Horse Comics. Its original run spanned from April 18, 2001 to September 19, 2001. Subsequently, it was collected and published as a trade paperback on May 1, 2002.

This narrative details the conclusion of the New Sith Wars, specifically the Battle of Ruusan, and the subsequent establishment of the Rule of Two. Furthermore, the comic provides an explanation for the origins of the Valley of the Jedi, a location featured prominently in The Dark Forces Saga, Star Wars: Jedi Knight: Dark Forces II, and Dark Forces: Jedi Knight

The series saw a re-release as part of the 30th Anniversary hardcover collection.

Behind the scenes

In contrast to later portrayals of the New Sith Wars, Jedi vs. Sith exhibits a renaissance-era aesthetic. For instance, older weapons like swords and arrows are present alongside more advanced technology such as lightsabers and blasters. This is similar to the ancient aesthetic seen in Star Wars: Tales of the Jedi. Much of this was later changed by the Darth Bane Trilogy novels, which adapt some of the comic books' storyline.
