Star Wars: Racer Revenge serves as the follow-up to the podracing title, Star Wars: Episode I Racer](/article/star_wars:_episode_i_racer). Set in 24 BBY, the game's narrative centers around Sebulba's quest for vengeance against Anakin Skywalker.
The game offers a roster of 22 pilots across 13 distinct tracks. Several enhancements distinguish it from its predecessor, including improved mechanics for eliminating rival racers. Additionally, players can unlock five hidden characters. Originally, the game launched on February 13, 2002, exclusively for the PlayStation 2. It later became accessible via PlayStation Network after a 13-year gap, initially for the PlayStation 3 on April 28, 2015, and subsequently for the PlayStation 4 on November 17, 2015.
Racer Revenge introduces seven new podracers not found in the original game: Knire Dark, Shrivel Braittrand, Occo Ninebar, Kraid Nemmeso, Wan Sandage Jr., "Scorch" Zanales, and Tzidik Wrantojo. Conversely, some podracers from The Phantom Menace did not make a return in Racer Revenge. These include Ratts Tyerell, Neva Kee, Elan Mak, Ark "Bumpy" Roose, Ebe Endocott, and Boles Roor. Despite appearing in early promotional materials, Neva Kee was ultimately excluded. The secret characters from Star Wars: Episode I Racer are also absent, and Tatooine is the solitary planet featured in both titles. Furthermore, Episode I Racer's additional characters, such as Slide Paramita, Fud Sang, Toy Dampner, Bozzie Baranta, and Navior, are not included, although Fud Sang's flag can be seen on certain tracks.
