The twenty-first installment of the Star Wars: Republic comic book series is titled Twilight, Part 3. Dark Horse Comics released it to the public on August 23, 2000.
Quinlan Vos, a Jedi of some mystery, needs to understand the reasons for his Padawan apprentice Aayla Secura's disappearance. That understanding, however, is locked within the obscured depths of his forgotten memories. As Vos seeks these answers, he might be disturbed by his findings, as apparent allies reveal themselves as deadly adversaries. Embark with Quinlan on his perilous quest for the truth within "Twilight's" third chapter.
Quinlan Vos and Vilmarh Grahrk make their way to Ryloth, where they are greeted by one of Quin's fellow clansmen. This clansman guides him to the uncle of his missing Padawan. Simultaneously, Villie engages in a conversation with his cousin, Holmar, outlining their scheme to double-cross the Jedi. After Secura accommodates the Jedi by showing him to his quarters, he is contacted via a communiqué originating from Coruscant. A mysterious benefactor then commands Secura to assassinate Vos. While conversing with his Kiffar companion, Quin receives a message from Villie, who requests a meeting at the Rock Gardens. Upon his arrival, Quin is ambushed by Holmar Grahrk, who is then betrayed and killed by his own cousin. As it turns out, Villie had placed another wager on Quin's survival, using his cousin as a mere instrument. Continuing his pursuit of Aayla, Quin, accompanied by Grahrk, ventures into a supposedly "abandoned" ryll mine. Unexpectedly, they are attacked by energy spiders, which were imported from Kessel to aid in the production of glitteryll. As the spiders begin to overwhelm them, Asanté Vos shoots Quin in the back. Asanté proceeds to explain her involvement in the plot to erase the memories of both Quin and Aayla, claiming it was an attempt to shield them from assassination due to their dangerously close investigation of the glitteryll operation. After Villie eliminates Asanté, the unlikely duo sets out once more to locate Pol Secura.
