Star Wars Tales #8 represents the eighth installment within the Star Wars Tales comic book anthology. Dark Horse Comics released it to the public on June 13, 2001.
In bygone eras, after a hard day's work of hunting and foraging for sustenance, communities would congregate around a crackling fire. There, a venerable elder, perhaps resembling a turtle adorned in bearskin, would captivate them with remarkable narratives of daring exploits and wondrous events. Regrettably, our present reality diverges significantly from that of hunter-gatherers, and the whereabouts of the aforementioned bearskin-clad storyteller remain unknown… Consequently, we now turn our attention to the insightful and amusing Star Wars Tales #8! Its collection of stories, centered around iconic characters such as Darth Vader, Boba Fett, Luke Skywalker, Han Solo, Villie, and C-3PO, serves as a reminder of life's fundamental values, including diversity and acceptance.
Dave Land, the editor of Star Wars Tales, offers readers a sneak peek into the production of the series' subsequent issue. This preview features Baby Maul and a Teenaged Vader as they practice a choreographed lightsaber duel. Both characters fatally strike Land, resulting in his death and subsequent transformation into a Force ghost.
