Wedge Antilles was selected for this role following the death of Thrackan Sal-Solo, who was the Minister of War during the Second Galactic Civil War that pitted the Five Worlds against the Galactic Alliance. This appointment occurred before Antilles' resignation, after which Five World Prime Minister Dur Gejjen appointed Genna Delpin to the position. Subsequently, the Five Worlds aligned with the Confederation in opposition to the Galactic Alliance. Although Delpin remained as Supreme Commander of the Corellian armed forces, her responsibilities were reassigned to Turr Phennir, who served as the Supreme Commander of the Confederation military.
