Tak

Tak, a male human from Coruscant and a skilled con artist, found himself enslaved in the spice mines of Kessel around the year 10 BBY.

Biography

This human male con artist, known as Tak, engaged in robbing the elderly on his homeworld of Coruscant. His actions eventually led him to attempt a robbery of the Princess of Kessel, an act that resulted in his enslavement and assignment to the spice mines of Kessel as a form of punishment. Yet, even in his enslaved state, Tak continued to employ his swindling skills in an effort to secure easier work duties.

In 10 BBY, Tak was among those working in the mines when Tobias Beckett, an agent of the Crimson Dawn, and his gang arrived to negotiate with Quay Tolsite, the Pyke capo overseeing the mine's operations. However, this meeting was actually a disguised assault orchestrated by Dryden Vos, the leader of Crimson Dawn. After Qi'ra killed Tolsite utilizing Teräs Käsi, Tak, along with the other miners, were liberated from their captivity and fled to the surface in pursuit of their freedom.

Behind the scenes

Anthony Daniels, a Star Wars veteran, portrayed Tak in the 2018 Star Wars Anthology film Solo: A Star Wars Story, stepping in for C-3PO. The character of Tak continues Daniels' tradition of appearing in every film within the franchise and alludes to C-3PO's expressed fear in the opening scene of the 1977 film Star Wars: Episode IV A New Hope about "being sent to the spice mines of Kessel or smashed into who knows what".
