The Tak-Beam complex functioned as a headquarters for the Alliance to Restore the Republic on the planet Durkteel. This occurred near the end of the Galactic Civil War, as they fought against the Galactic Empire. It was during this time that Hendri Underholt, an archivist and aide to Chancellor Mon Mothma, embarked on a journey to Durkteel with the purpose of protecting The Rebel Files. Subsequently, on the very same day as the Battle of Endor in 4 ABY, the complex suffered a devastating bombardment from three Star Destroyers, resulting in its destruction and Underholt's death. Some decades afterwards, The Rebel Files were discovered during an excavation when a new comm tower site was unearthed. Ultimately, these files reached General Leia Organa of the Resistance, who had previously been both a member and a leader within the Alliance.
