The Naddist uprising

After the conclusion of the Beast Wars, the newly established Onderonian monarchy, along with their Jedi allies under the leadership of Master Arca Jeth, are in the process of preparing for the relocation of the dark siders' sarcophagi. Assisting Jeth are his apprentices Ulic Qel-Droma, Cay Qel-Droma, Tott Doneeta, and Oss Wilum, the apprentice of Master Thon. Galia, the new Queen of Onderon, and her spouse Oron Kira are determined to rid Iziz of the corrupting influence of the dark side left by Nadd and Amanoa. The Onderonian military has readied a tomb located on the moon of Dxun to serve as the final resting place for Nadd and Amanoa.

Before the remains of Nadd and Amanoa can be loaded onto a starship, a groundborer unexpectedly breaks through the spaceport's surface and unleashes a force of several hundred Naddists, commanded by Warb Null. Amidst the chaos of distracting the Jedi and the Iziz forces, a clandestine group of Naddists successfully seize the sarcophagi, retreating with them back underground, into the extensive sub-levels of the deep city.

Master Arca detects a palpable dark side presence emanating from the depths of Iziz. Queen Galia proposes seeking assistance from her father, King Ommin, who has been dependent on a life-support system for many years. While Cay, Tott, and Oss Wilum secure the royal palace, Master Arca and Ulic accompany Galia to Ommin's location. Arca demands to know where Freedon Nadd's sarcophagus is, but Ommin defiantly reveals that Freedon Nadd is with them.

The spectral Force ghost of Freedon Nadd materializes, leading Master Arca to realize that Nadd is the true source of the dark side's influence within Iziz. Empowered by Freedon Nadd's spirit, Ommin defies his apparent immobility by launching an assault on Master Arca, rendering him unconscious. Warb Null intervenes and attacks Ulic, only to be swiftly defeated and killed by the young Jedi. Regrettably, this distraction allows Ommin the necessary time to abduct Master Arca.

Ulic and Galia return to the royal palace, only to discover that the Naddists have seized control. They reunite with Cay, Wilum, and King Oron, escaping on Drexls to Modon Kira's fortress located in the wilderness to regroup. Tott also arranges for the Beast Riders to be transported to Kira's citadel. Recognizing the overwhelming power of the dark side, Ulic makes the decision to request reinforcements from the Republic and the Jedi Order.

Mustering the Jedi

In the meantime, Jedi Master Thon arrives on the planet Ossus accompanied by his new apprentice Nomi Sunrider and her daughter Vima Sunrider. Ossus has served as a prominent Jedi center for learning since antiquity. Master Thon introduces Nomi and Vima to Master Vodo-Siosk Baas, who is instructing Dace Diath in the art of constructing a lightsaber. While Thon takes Vima to play with other Jedi children, Vodo introduces Nomi to another Jedi student, Shoaneb Culu, who is also in the process of learning how to build a lightsaber.

After a week of training, Nomi successfully constructs a green lightsaber. Following several weeks of training, Nomi and a group of Jedi volunteers step forward to rescue Master Arca from the clutches of the Naddists on Onderon. Nomi, along with four other volunteers - Dace Diath, Shoaneb Culu, Kith Kark, and Qrrrl Toq - are selected for the mission. With Vima secured among the other Jedi children on Onderon, Nomi and her comrades embark on a journey to Onderon to participate in the impending Second Battle of Onderon.

Enter the Krath

On Coruscant, the galactic capital, the Defense Minister and various senators engage in a debate regarding the deployment of military forces to aid Ulic on Onderon. Simultaneously, Satal and his cousin Aleema Keto, heirs to the Empress Teta system royalty and members of the Dark Side cult known as the Krath, visit the Galactic Museum and discover a captivating Sith book.

Satal covertly steals the book while the curator is momentarily distracted, and they return to their accommodations. Satal and Aleema find themselves unable to decipher its contents. Upon viewing a news report detailing the ongoing activities of Sith practitioners in Iziz, the Ketos decide to travel to Onderon to locate these practitioners and unlock the secrets contained within their newly acquired book.

Upon exiting hyperspace, they discover that Onderon is under blockade by the Republic Navy, which has established a secure military zone. In defiance of the Republic blockade, the audacious Satal pilots the Tetan Royal Space Yacht Krath Enchanter through the Republic fleet. When Aleema voices her concern about the potential for fatal consequences, Satal retorts that he will not allow the Republic to reach the Sith magicians before they do.
