The Tamarin sector constituted a sector in space. Bordering the Tamarin sector were the Danjar, Mayagil, Svivreni, Rseik, and Tarabba sectors. The Nihil marauders established the Occlusion Zone in 230 BBY; this zone was a region of space in the Outer Rim's Frontier located beyond the Stormwall, which prevented hyperspace jumps. Consequently, the Tamarin sector became one of the sectors that defined the boundary of Galactic Republic controlled space, while several of its adjacent sectors were isolated by the Stormwall.
Within established Star Wars canon, the Tamarin sector was initially visualized on a map within the first edition of the 2023 Star Wars: The High Republic Adventures comic book series. Dark Horse Comics published this issue, which was part of Star Wars: The High Republic multimedia project's Phase III, on December 6, 2023; the writing was done by Daniel José Older, with illustrations by Harvey Tolibao and Nick Brokenshire.
