Tenek was a chef of the human species. He was employed at Hotel Rix on the planet of Ferrix when the Galactic Empire used the hotel as their operational headquarters. In the year 5 BBY, as a funeral procession for Maarva Andor, a local woman, took place, Tenek walked into the kitchen carrying a tray. Inside, he encountered Maarva's son, Cassian, who aimed a blaster at him. However, upon recognizing Tenek as the cook, Cassian lowered his weapon.
Andor's clandestine entry into the building was to locate Bix Caleen, an Imperial prisoner detained within. He inquired about her location to Tenek, who, without speaking, gestured towards the correct direction and offered a silent expression of sympathy for the death of Maarva. Subsequently, Andor successfully freed Caleen and made their escape without triggering any alarms. Tenek's appearance included light skin, brown [hair](/article/hair], and brown eyes. His attire in the kitchen consisted of a brown uniform, complete with an apron and a hat.
