A Force-sensitive male humanoid, Trudgen, was a member of the Knights of Ren. He served under the command of Ren, also known as Kylo Ren later on.
Kylo Ren summoned Trudgen and the other Knights of Ren, who all answered his call. The Knights accepted Ren's leadership without any hesitation, acknowledging the validity of his past trial's outcome.

Following their pursuit of Rey, Trudgen and his fellow Knights of Ren found themselves within the Sith Citadel of Darth Sidious on Exegol. During the Battle of Exegol, Ben Solo, who had turned back to the light, entered the citadel with the intention of rescuing Rey.
Before Solo could arrive at the Throne of the Sith, Trudgen and the other Knights confronted their former leader. The Knights quickly gained the upper hand against the unarmed Jedi, forcing him to the ground and beating him severely. However, Rey used their Force-bond to send Solo his grandfather's lightsaber. Wielding Anakin Skywalker's lightsaber, Solo swiftly dispatched Kuruk and Cardo, then used a Force push to throw Ap'lek into a pit, followed by cutting down Vicrul. Trudgen then attempted to strike Solo, but Solo effortlessly pierced his chest before Trudgen could even swing his vibrocleaver.
Although Force-sensitive and connected to the dark side of the Force, Trudgen's powers were limited due to a lack of training. Like the other Knights, Trudgen possessed unparalleled fighting skills and martial prowess. One notable feat of Trudgen's was his victory over a death trooper, considering their strength and uncommon nature. Despite his power, he was swiftly defeated by Ben Solo, his redeemed former leader, who stabbed him in the chest during the Battle of Exegol.

Trudgen, a collector of spoils from past battles, incorporated weapons and armors from his defeated enemies into his gear. For example, his unique helmet was originally worn by a death trooper he had previously defeated.
Trudgen's signature weapon was a massive vibrocleaver, constructed from crucible steel with phrik or beskar filaments. While a lightsaber could cut through it, significant force would be required. This primitive weapon featured ultrasonic technology that vibrated the blade, enhancing its cutting ability. When not actively wielding it, Trudgen would rest the blunt end over his shoulder using weight-reducing holes along the weapon's spine, or he would carry it on a bandolier across his back. He also carried a sizable secondary blade in a sheath on his torso.
Like the rest of the Knights of Ren, Trudgen wore all black. He wore a heavy tabard and hood, along with scavenged armor plates covering his torso. His helmet was partially constructed from the helmet of a death trooper whom he had killed.
Tom Rodgers, a stunt performer, played Trudgen in the 2019 film Star Wars: Episode IX The Rise of Skywalker. He was credited as "Knight of Ren" in the film's end credits.
