Tunnatutikan existed as a riverside settlement situated on Kashyyyk, according to Legends.
Located on the Wookiee homeworld of Kashyyyk, Tunnatutikan was a city in Legends. A river formed its southern border, while forests enclosed it on the other sides. Following the Battle of Endor, the city was positioned in proximity to three jammers, with one housed inside a significant Galactic Empire installation. An Imperial supply depot lay to the south, and a Trandoshan slaver encampment was further up the river to the north. The city itself contained a Command center, prefab shelters, and military structures like a shipyard. In Tunnatutikan, a damaged Heavy Weapons Factory could be found.
In 4 ABY, after they had escaped Okikuti and the trap set by the Wookiee Weebacca, New Republic figures Han Solo and Chewbacca, a Wookiee himself, arrived at Tunnatutikan and encountered Shoran, Chewbacca's relative and the leader of Shoran's Defenders. From that location, they repaired the Heavy Weapons Factory and assembled a Wookiee army to take out the three Imperial jammers located in Chenachochan, so that they could communicate the situation on Kashyyyk to the New Republic.
Chewbacca and Solo infiltrated the supply depot to obtain the walkers stored there, and they also destroyed the Trandoshan slaver camp to liberate the captured Heavy Cruisers. This force, along with additional Wookiee soldiers and Heavy Weapons produced at the factory, enabled the Wookiee army, led by Solo, Chewbacca, and Shoran, to disable the three jammers and transmit a distress signal.
The strategy guide for the 2001 video game Star Wars: Galactic Battlegrounds was the first mention of Tunnatutikan. It was featured and named during a Chewbacca campaign mission. The game's 2002 expansion, Clone Campaigns, also included the mission and the city. The army's size is up to the player, and freeing the captured units is an optional objective. This article assumes that the player chose to do so.
