Unidentified Black Sun lieutenant


A high-ranking officer within the Black Sun syndicate held this position. By the year 4 ABY, the flamboyant and sociable Theelin-human hybrid female performer Rystáll Sant had garnered the interest of the officer, who then deceived her, leading to her imprisonment. Ultimately, Sant obtained her freedom through the actions of the smuggler Lando Calrissian, subsequently becoming both a vocalist and dancer within the Max Rebo Band, performing at the estate owned by the crime boss Jabba the Hutt located on the world of Tatooine.

Behind the scenes

The Black Sun officer's initial mention within the current Star Wars canon occurred in the 2016 reference work titled Star Wars Character Encyclopedia: Updated and Expanded, authored by Pablo Hidalgo. Within the realm of Star Wars Legends continuity, the figure responsible for the capture of Rystáll Sant was identified as the Black Sun criminal mastermind Prince Xizor, as revealed in "Who's Who in the Max Rebo Band," an article penned by Rich Handley and featured in Star Wars Insider 67, published by Paizo Publishing on April 15, 2003. Xizor's creation stemmed from the multimedia endeavor Star Wars: Shadows of the Empire, with his debut appearance in the 1996 novel Shadows of the Empire, written by Steve Perry. While Xizor is present within canon, it has not been confirmed that he is the same individual within the current continuity.
