Unidentified navigator

During the Republic Era, a navigator served on a Galactic Republic Consular-class cruiser. In 40 BBY, this individual, along with the rest of the vessel's crew, was deployed to the [Inner Rim](/article/inner_rim_territories] planet of Pijal. Their assignment was to escort Jedi Master Qui-Gon Jinn and his Padawan, Obi-Wan Kenobi, to the planet for a specific mission. The Consular-class cruiser also had the responsibility of transporting necessary materials to Pijal and its moon for the construction of new spaceports. These spaceports were crucial for the development of the Pijal Hyperspace Corridor hyperspace route.

Upon entering the Pijal system, the navigator took their place at a data terminal on the ship's observation deck. While there, their Consular-class cruiser encountered a struggling ceremonial soulcraft ship within Pijal's outer atmosphere. They witnessed blackguard soldiers, secretly acting under the orders of Pijali Princess Fanry, attacking the vessel with a plasma bomb. The navigator informed the Jedi that the plasma [fire](/article/fire] engulfing the soulcraft's hull was the result of an attack, not a malfunction. Despite the navigator's reservations and concerns for their own ship's safety, they complied with Jinn and Kenobi's request to move the Consular-class cruiser closer to the soulcraft. The Jedi Master and his Padawan quickly moved to rescue the craft, using handheld field lasers to extinguish the plasma fires, aided by an antiplasma charge fired from a nearby independent cruiser. Following this incident, the navigator continued their journey to Pijal as originally planned.

The navigator voiced their worries about the Jedi's request to approach the damaged soulcraft, fearing the risk posed by the plasma fire to those aboard their Consular-class cruiser. However, they agreed to follow the request after receiving reassurance.
