A Nihil marauder served as a member of I'nah's crew, the captain of the Nihil, aboard a vessel that had been seized from the Galactic Republic during the High Republic Era. For a certain time period, the crew was responsible for patrolling the Stormwall, which acted as a hyperspace barrier. This barrier separated the Occlusion Zone – which the Nihil claimed – from the remainder of Republic space and thus, the rest of the galaxy. The Nihil became acquainted with the pirate Tanana Keem, whose crew collaborated with I'nah's crew and other Nihil members to conduct operations within the Occlusion Zone. In 229 BBY, the Nihil attended a meeting that I'nah hosted within the ship's briefing room, remaining after several of their comrades had departed. As Keem's child, the aspiring pirate Zyle Keem, was being escorted away, the Nihil remarked on their resemblance to their parent, noting only a difference in size.
The character of the Nihil appeared in Escape from Valo, a young adult book from 2024 written collaboratively by Daniel José Older and Alyssa Wong. This novel was part of the Star Wars: The High Republic multimedia project's Phase III.
