The Nihil captain I'nah's personnel were stationed on a captured Galactic Republic cruiser, which they used to patrol the Stormwall hyperspace barrier. Back in 229 BBY, the Nihil scientist Niv Drendow Apruk had a disagreement with I'nah and other crew members when she refused to go to the Outer Rim planet Valo. The aspiring pirate Zyle Keem was discovered listening in on the discussion and was led away by a Trandoshan Nihil. Keem stole the Trandoshan's access card and escaped I'nah's crew's starship aboard a shuttle. Later, I'nah changed her mind and decided to travel to Valo, letting Apruk leave to find mycopram for his research.
During the High Republic Era, I'nah took control of a cruiser belonging to the Galactic Republic and began leading a Nihil crew stationed on the starship. For a certain time, the captain and her crew were responsible for patrolling the Stormwall, a hyperspace barrier that separated the Occlusion Zone from the rest of Republic space. Eventually, the group started interacting with Tanana Keem's pirate crew, allowing them to use the cruiser as a base for their raids and to trade goods.

In 229 BBY, I'nah's crew permitted Keem to leave their child, the aspiring pirate Zyle Keem, on their ship while she conducted a heist on the astronomical object Quence in the hopes of finding a safe place for Zyle. Later, I'nah conducted a meeting in the ship's briefing room with some of her crew and the Nihil scientist Niv Drendow Apruk, where they discussed various subjects. When Apruk insisted on traveling to the Outer Rim planet Valo to acquire mycopram—a regenerative medical substance—for an experiment, the captain made fun of him and refused. A Trandoshan Nihil also protested to the scientist, stating that he was needed on their cruiser.
When Zyle was discovered listening to the meeting, the Trandoshan escorted them away while Apruk and I'nah continued their argument about traveling to Valo. The Trandoshan quickly became overwhelmed and annoyed by Zyle's constant questions, and out of frustration, told them everything they wanted to know, including the number of crew members on the ship and the location of the ship's emergency shuttles. Zyle then escaped the Nihil crew's ship in a shuttle, using the access card they had pilfered from the Nihil escorting them, and flew to Valo. Eventually, I'nah also decided to go to Valo, and Apruk disembarked to find mycopram. Tanana later expressed her disappointment with Zyle for disobeying her instructions to remain on the Nihil cruiser.
I'nah's crew made an appearance in Escape from Valo, a junior novel from 2024 written by Daniel José Older and Alyssa Wong as part of the Star Wars: The High Republic multimedia project's Phase III.
