In the year 229 BBY, the piratical Tanana Keem's team perpetrated a robbery on Quence. The objective was to pilfer a load of rejuve from the celestial body Quence. Its value had surged due to the ongoing war between the Nihil raiders and the Galactic Republic. Following their departure from the Nihil commander I'nah's flagship aboard their spacecraft, specifically the Venomed Scabbard and the Grim Devourer II, the pirates successfully carried out their plan. They obtained not only their target goods but also some extra loot. Post-Quence, Keem's group journeyed to the Outer Rim world Valo. There, they aided her offspring's newly established group, known as the Scarlet Skulls, in their attack on the scientific ship Innovator.
The Nihil bandits and the Galactic Republic were locked in combat. This resulted in a sharp increase in the price of rejuve and other medicinal supplies throughout the galaxy. At this point in time, the pirate Tanana Keem was in charge of a team of pirates. This included Therm Scissorpunch, Coromont Vizzle, Drrn, Dexter Jettster, Abadoo, and Rado, who operated using the starships Grim Devourer II and Venomed Scabbard.
Keem's crew operated within the Nihil-dominated Occlusion Zone. This area was separated from the Republic-controlled space by the Stormwall hyperspace barrier. They were situated in the Outer Rim, where they conducted many raids. They frequently worked with the Nihil captain I'nah's cruiser to plan their raids, gather intel, and trade goods. After hearing about a rejuve shipment headed to the planetary celestial object Quence in 229 BBY, Keem and her crew plotted to steal it. Prior to setting off for the Quence heist, Keem left her child, Zyle Keem, on I'nah's cruiser to collect information and stay safe. Zyle was not happy, as they had hoped to jump on a hovertrain during the upcoming operation.
Tanana instructed her crew to stick together on Quence. She did not want the heist to mirror the crew's previous mishap on the Outer Rim planet Ryloth. Following this, Tanana and her crew left the Nihil ship aboard the Venomed Scabbard and the Grim Devourer II, jumping into hyperspace to reach Quence. The crew then met up again after exiting hyperspace and began the raid. During the raid, Scissorpunch lost a pincer. The group successfully stole the rejuve shipment they were after, leaving the celestial body with some additional goods.
After the heist was done, Tanana got in touch with Zyle and told them that the raid was a success. However, she was mother's disappointed that her child had left the Nihil cruiser and gone to the Outer Rim planet Valo, which was under Nihil control. After the crew met Zyle on Valo, Tanana told her child about their time on Quence and how it went. Meanwhile, Zyle convinced their mother's crew to help their newly formed crew, the Scarlet Skulls, which included Padawan Ram Jomaram and Jedi younglings Gavi, Kildo, and Tep Tep, to attack the scientific ship Innovator. In return, they would get part of the medical supplies taken from the ship during the operation.
The heist was mentioned in Escape from Valo, a 2024 young adult novel written by Daniel José Older and Alyssa Wong as part of the Star Wars: The High Republic multimedia project's Phase III.
