A protocol droid functioned as an educator on the planet of Nevarro after its liberation from the Imperial remnant forces commanded by Moff Gideon. While the protocol droid was conducting an astrography lesson, the infant Grogu, who was being protected by the Mandalorian Din Djarin, was placed in the classroom by Magistrate Greef Karga to ensure his safety while Djarin aided Karga in the destruction of the remaining Imperial base on Nevarro. Upon Djarin's return to the classroom, Grogu was given back to him.

In the year 9 ABY, this protocol droid took on the role of a teacher on the planet Nevarro following its liberation from the Imperial remnant forces under the leadership of Moff Gideon. When Greef Karga brought the youngling Grogu into the classroom, the droid was instructing her students on the history of the Galactic Republic and the various regions of the galaxy. As the class became focused on the new arrival, she instructed the class to remain silent and calm, and then continued her lesson by telling her students about the capitals of the old and New Republic.
After Grogu's introduction to the class, Karga, Din Djarin—Grogu's guardian—and Carasynthia Dune launched an assault on the last Imperial base. Grogu was subsequently returned to Djarin when he came back.
Later, Djarin and Grogu journeyed to Nevarro to meet the new High Magistrate Greef Karga and request his assistance in rebuilding IG-11 to aid him on his journey to Mandalore. During their conversation, a droid alerted Karga and Djarin that the school was under attack by pirates. The two quickly went to the school, where they discovered Vane, a pirate, harassing the droid and demanding that she allow him and his companions to enter. Karga and Djarin fatally shot Vane's companions, causing Vane to quickly flee the scene.
The droid made its initial appearance in "Chapter 12: The Siege," which was the fourth episode of the second season of the television series The Mandalorian. This episode was broadcast on Disney+ on November 20, 2020. The character, credited as "Teacher Droid," had Kathryn Elise Drexler as the voice actor and Chris Bartlett as the physical performer.
