Urce sector

The Urce sector, a space sector, was located within the Lesser Plooriod Cluster and populated by humans. A hyperspace route, initially mapped by the Ithorians originating from the planet Ithor, and subsequently by the Trade Federation, had an intersection point within the Urce sector.

During 28 BBY, the Ithorians aimed to publicly release the map of the hyperspace route through a motion presented before the Senate of the Galactic Republic. Supreme Chancellor Palpatine then initiated a period of discussion on the Senate floor, providing an opportunity for a human senator and a Trade Federation delegate to debate the Ithorian senator who proposed the initiative. Senator Padmé Amidala cast her vote in support of the motion, contemplating that while the inhabitants of the Urce sector could lay claim to a segment of the route, the Ithorians had been utilizing it for a considerable period before the Trade Federation undertook its mapping. However, the motion was ultimately unsuccessful.
