Valor-class cruiser

The Valor-class cruiser fulfilled its role within the Republic Navy throughout the Great Galactic War and the subsequent period of the Cold War that followed.

The ship's architecture incorporated a prominent, rounded central section, with weapon emplacements strategically positioned to cover the front, sides, and rear. Seven propulsion units were situated on a ventral tower, complemented by a command structure located on the dorsal aspect. Multiple hangar bays lined the flanks of each vessel. Furthermore, at least one additional hangar was present on the dorsal hull, facing the central recessed area of the ship. Consistent with Republic naval aesthetics, the Capital Ship displayed a color scheme characterized by red bands against a white hull backdrop.

This class of warship functioned as the Republic fleet's most formidable and heavily armed asset. It could rival the Harrower-class dreadnought in both size and firepower. However, its armor was selectively applied, granting it superior speed and maneuverability compared to the Harrower. They typically operated as flagships within the Republic Fleet, tasked with defending planets from Imperial offensives and conducting strikes against Imperial resources across the galaxy.

History

Republic ships attack a Sith fleet near Korriban.

Numerous vessels of this type participated in combat operations during the Great Galactic War, notably as part of a naval task force that attacked the planet of Korriban. They later engaged in battles during the ensuing Cold War. Jedi Master Oteg served aboard the Telos, the flagship of the First Expeditionary Fleet, and directed a team of Republic operatives from the ship during a raid targeting an Imperial facility on Taral V.

During the Cold War period, the Telos was an integral part of the Republic force dispatched to liberate Jedi Master Revan from the Maelstrom Prison, working alongside a Republic assault team. Following Revan's rescue, at least a pair of these cruisers formed part of the Republic blockade that defended the Foundry from Imperial assault, until the Emperor authorized an attack on the space station.

The Allusis, named in honor of Great Galactic War hero Jedi Master Belth Allusis, fell into the hands of Mandalorian forces. A special operations team was assembled, and the ship was infiltrated via a boarding pod launched from a Thranta-class corvette.

During the Galactic War, a Valor-class vessel named the Valiant, under the command of Admiral Dabrin, functioned as the Republic's flagship. It was seized by Imperial forces led by Jedi Master Warren Sedoru, who had been corrupted and turned into a servant of the Emperor. Armed with knowledge of Republic strategies and fleet dispositions, the Empire transformed the Valiant into a devastating weapon capable of crippling the Republic Fleet. The Jedi Knight, aided by allies, boarded the flagship, defeated the fallen Jedi, and rescued Admiral Dabrin.

Throughout the renewed hostilities between the Sith Empire and the Galactic Republic, numerous Valor-class warships were deployed against the Empire on various fronts, including Corellia, Ilum, and in several internal conflicts. The Republic intensified its efforts to overcome the Sith Empire. Several of these warships would also accomplish what was considered impossible by assaulting the Imperial Capital.
