During the Clone Wars, specifically in 20 BBY, Waxer, a Clone Lieutenant, commanded a platoon during the Battle of Umbara. This conflict occurred between the Galactic Republic and the Confederacy of Independent Systems.
While the Grand Army of the Republic was fighting on the world of Umbara located in the Expansion Regions, Jedi General Pong Krell gave Waxer's platoon intel that the Umbarans had eliminated a clone squad and were using their armor as a disguise. However, Clone Captain Rex from the 501st Legion received the very same information. This resulted in a battle with significant losses on both sides, until they realized they were all clones. Despite the loss of their platoon leader at this point, the platoon joined forces with the remaining members of the 501st to capture General Krell for his act of treason.
This platoon consisted of thirty-six clone troopers organized into four squads from the 212th Attack Battalion. They wore phase II clone trooper armor that featured the distinctive orange markings associated with the 212th. Notably, Waxer's platoon was equipped with mortars, visors, and backpacks in addition to their standard armor.

The 212th Attack Battalion, including Waxer's platoon, participated in the Battle of Umbara on the planet Umbara in the Expansion Regions during 20 BBY. This battle was a part of the larger Clone Wars fought between the Grand Army of the Republic and the Confederacy of Independent Systems. Towards the end of the battle, Jedi General Pong Krell, then in charge of the 501st Legion, informed the platoon that Umbarans had ambushed a clone unit and were disguising themselves in [clone trooper armor](/article/clone_trooper_armor]. The [soldiers](/article/soldier], who were near-human, were using the armor to deceive the Republic forces.
Krell gave the same story to the 501st Legion, who then deployed their forces. Soon after, the two units encountered each other, each believing the other to be Umbaran imposters. Waxer's platoon engaged the 501st, resulting in disastrous friendly fire incidents and substantial casualties, including injuries to Waxer himself. After discovering they were fighting their own comrades, the surviving members of Waxer's platoon and the 501st joined forces to confront Krell.

The combined forces proceeded to the Umbaran airbase, which was under the 501st's control. They encountered Krell in the base's control tower, but the treacherous Jedi fled into the forest, inflicting heavy casualties on the clone [troops](/article/trooper]. The remaining troopers, including what was left of Waxer's platoon, chased Krell into the [forest](/article/forest] surrounding the airbase to find him.
Krell ambushed the clones from the trees, his voice echoing through the forest, causing even more casualties. During the renewed attack, clone trooper Tup stumbled upon a vixus, a predatory creature native to Umbara. In an attempt to end the carnage, Tup lured Krell towards the vixus, which attacked the General. The distraction allowed the surviving clone troopers to stun Krell and take him into custody. Following these events, it is known that at least two clone troopers from Waxer's platoon survived.
The tenth episode of Star Wars: The Clone Wars Season Four, entitled "Carnage of Krell," which aired on November 18, 2011, featured Waxer's platoon, although they were not named at that time.
