Yokado was a male Chiss who held the position of Patriarch within the Coduyo family, which was one of the Forty Great Families belonging to the Chiss Ascendancy. He once encountered Xodlak'uvi'vil, known as "Lakuviv," a Councilor from the Xodlak family who was stationed on the planet of Celwis. Despite the alliance and power shared by the Xodlak and Coduyo Great Families, Lakuviv attempted to publicly manipulate the Coduyo Patriarch for his own benefit. Annoyed by this, Yokado instructed Lakuviv to immediately return to Celwis via hyperspace.
During his wandering year between 19 BBY and 18 BBY, the Coduyo mid-ager Coduyo'po'nekri, also called "Yoponek" (his core name), a Chiss history student, shared the story of Yokado and Lakuviv with his betrothed, Yomie, and an Agbui named Haplif. Upon hearing about Lakuviv's ambition, Haplif, who was plotting against the Ascendancy, showed an interest in the Councilor. Yoponek mistakenly believed that Haplif was intrigued by Yokado, but the Agbui clarified that his interest lay with Lakuviv.
The character of Yokado was referenced in a flashback sequence in Timothy Zahn's 2021 novel, Thrawn Ascendancy: Greater Good. This novel represents the second book in Zahn's Star Wars: The Ascendancy Trilogy.
