The Koth lineage refers to the relatives of Eeth Koth, who once held the rank of Jedi Master. After he chose to leave the Jedi Order, Koth entered into marriage with Mira, a female Zabrak; their union resulted in the birth of a baby daughter.
Originally from [Iridonia](/article/iridonia], a planet, Eeth Koth was a male Zabrak. His Force-sensitive nature was identified, leading to his recruitment and training as a Jedi at the Jedi Temple.
Koth quickly rose through the ranks, achieving the title of Jedi Master and earning a seat on the Jedi High Council. He was an active participant in numerous battles throughout the Clone Wars.

In 19 BBY, Koth was compelled to resign from his position on the Jedi High Council, thus ending his affiliation with the Jedi Order. The former Jedi Master went into exile at the same time Supreme Chancellor Sheev Palpatine, secretly Darth Sidious, brought about the Jedi Order's downfall by initiating Order 66, which commanded the clone troopers to turn against and eliminate the Jedi.
Following Palpatine's establishment of the Galactic Empire, where he reigned as Emperor, Koth remained in exile, having renounced his allegiance to the Jedi. Eventually, he developed a romantic relationship with Mira, a female Zabrak. By 14 BBY, they were joined in marriage, and Mira later became pregnant with Koth's offspring. Additionally, Koth embraced the role of a priest within the Church of the Ganthic Enlightenment, where he presided over weddings and funerals.

Mira gave birth to their daughter with Eeth Koth present at the delivery. Like her father, the newborn exhibited Force sensitivity. However, just moments after her birth, Darth Vader and a trio of Inquisitors arrived to confront Koth.
Initially, the former Jedi attempted to reason with Vader, requesting that he allow his family to live in peace, while Mira instructed a nurse droid to hand her the baby. When Koth's attempts at negotiation failed, he engaged Vader in a lightsaber duel, allowing his wife to flee with their daughter.
As Mira attempted to reach her father's hovercraft with her daughter, she was pursued by the Inquisitors. She was nearly successful, but the Inquisitor Thirteenth Sister intercepted her, using the child's Force-sensitivity to track her down. In desperation, Mira pleaded with the Inquisitor, woman to woman, to allow her and her child to escape. Akaris appeared to relent, allowing her to enter the hovercraft.

As the craft took off, Akaris used the Force to wrench the child from Mira's grasp while the vehicle was airborne. Mira was devastated and begged her father to turn back, but he refused, fearing that they would both be killed if they returned.
As the battle between Koth and Vader raged on, the former Jedi Master realized that the Inquisitor had captured his daughter, which distracted him. Vader seized the opportunity to fatally impale the Zabrak from behind. The Inquisitors then presented Koth's daughter to Vader, who used the Force to silence her cries. Subsequently, Vader entrusted the baby to two nursemaids to be integrated into Project Harvester.
The Koth family's introduction occurred through Eeth Koth in the 1999 film Star Wars: Episode I The Phantom Menace, which served as the inaugural installment of the Star Wars prequel trilogy. However, the formation of the Koth family was not depicted until the 2018 comic book issue Darth Vader 19. In contrast, the Star Wars Legends continuity portrayed Eeth Koth as an orphan who grew up in the dangerous slums of Nar Shaddaa's, lacking any family when the Jedi Order sought him.
