Guests on Andraven

Jedi Master Zia Zaldor Zanna has sent the Jedi younglings Kai Brightstar, Lys Solay, Nubs along with Nash Durango and RJ-83 to the snowy planet of Andraven. The children ride on seal-like, horned creatures called wellagrins in a snow-covered stables. The elephant-like alien Varna contacts Master Zia by holoprojector. Zanna thanks Varna for inviting the younglings. Varna thinks that the youngling are ready to join Gumar and Jam for the wellagrin migration.

Gumar and Jam explains that they will be accompanying the wellagrins on their annual migration to the orchards. Solay is eager due to her love for animals. Varna tells the youngling to keep to the track due to the danger of avalanches. She also warns them to reach their destination by nightfall since it gets stormy at night. Nubs mouths in agreement. Durango says that she and RJ-83 will fly Varna to the other side of the mountains in the Crimson Firehawk. She is eager for moogan tea. Zanna counsels the younglings to pause and take a deep breath if things get difficult to the trip. She wishes that the Force be with them and tells them to have fun.

The wellagrin migration

The younglings walk while the wellagrins swim through the snow. Two wellagrins stray from the path but Gumar uses his flute to guide them back to the herd. Jam tries to imitate his friend but is less proficient with the flute. Solay encourages Jam, who invites the Jedi younglings to play their flutes. The Jedi struggle but Gumar and Jam give encouraging feedback. A wellagrin named Snowball strays away from the trail.

Solay tries to signal Snowball with her flute but instead triggers an avalanche. The avalanche sweeps the wellagrin herd downhill. Gumar reassures Solay that they will be fine since the wellagrins can swim in the snow. The five younglings take shelter on higher ground. Solay is frustrated with her struggle to play the flute. Brightstar and Nubs reassure her that they will find the wellagrins before the storm strikes again. Nubs suggests using the flute but Gumar doesn't think the herd can hear them from far. Brightstar suggests splitting up, which they do.

Solay and Gumar, who is carrying a baby wellagrin, find a female wellagrin entangled within a purple vine-like plant. Though the creature is initially frightened, Solay manages to calm the wellagrin and convinces her to back out. Gumar notices Solay's ability to connect with animals. Solay says they have feelings like them. Brightstar contacts her, telling Solay that they need help. Meanwhile, Brightstar and Nubs struggle to move a stubborn wellagrin while Jam watches. Gumar arrives with Solay and the female wellagrin. Solay uses the Force to jump up a tree and fetches a purple fruit. She gives the fruit to the wellagrin, convincing it to follow them. Solay takes charge in the mustering operation. Brightstar and Nubs dig through the snow to catch up with two wellagrins. The three younglings use the Force to levitate a fifth wellagrin.

Teamwork and adventure

Later that evening, Jam comforts the hungry young wellagrin and feeds him under a tree. Meanwhile, Gumar tells the group that they need to head down to the orchard before dusk. He notices that Jam is missing. Elsewhere, Jam realizes that he is alone and tries to comfort the young wellagrin. The others are unable to find Jam due to the snowfall. Solay expresses frustration with the situation but Brightstar and Nubs remind her of Master Zia's advice to pause and take a deep breath for a minute. The three younglings squat in the snow and meditate in the Force.

Solay comes up with the idea to signal Jam with the flute. Jam plays his flute back and the group travel with the herd to find Jam. By communicating via flute, they are able to find Jam's location. Gumar and Jam run to meet each other but their footprints trigger an avalanche down a deep slope. Solay convinces her friends to mount a wellagrin. Jam is carried by the avalanche but Solay pursues him on her wellagrin and manages to pull him to safety. The group ride down with their wellagrins towards a settlement on the other side of the mountains where Durango and other others are waiting. The avalanche just stops short of the village, Brightstar, Solay, and Nubs are jubilant.

Later that night, the younglings recount their adventures to Master Zia, who is proud of their achievements. Varna says they are welcome back to Andraven anytime. Jam playfully throws a snowball at Solay. The children engage in a snowball fight.
