Papdoo

The papdoo was a creature which was considered endangered during the High Republic Era. The Shani singer Crufeela, who was infamous for eating endangered creatures, was embroiled in a scandal involving papdoo which she attempted to come back from by performing the seemingly patriotic song "Corellia for Corellians" in a galactic talent show. However, the comeback failed when it was discovered that Crufeela had lied about writing the song and had lip-synched to a voice recording of a Naboo teenager. Crufeela's later arrest on Corellia for attempting to eat the Bonbrak Teetak in 230 BBY was described by Chief Inspector Deemus Abrus as her third fall from grace, after the papdoo scandal and the talent show.

A papdoo was first mentioned in the 2022 young-adult novel The High Republic: Midnight Horizon, written by Daniel José Older for the Star Wars: The High Republic multimedia project. The book does not clarify whether "papdoo" is singular, plural, or both.
