Pyloon was a Latero female who was the great-grandmother of pilot Greez Dritus. As Dritus' parents were not present, she raised Greez and taught him several culinary secrets and recipes. Long after her death, by 14 BBY, Dritus talked fondly about her among his fellow crew members of the luxury yacht Stinger Mantis. After the group had split by 9 BBY, Dritus moved to the planet Koboh, where he opened the cantina Pyloon's Saloon in honor of his grandmother and hung a portrait of her titled "Beloved Pyloon" inside.
Pyloon was a Latero female who had eight children, thirty-six grandchildren, two pet tooka cats, and her great-grandchild, the pilot Greez Dritus. As Dritus' parents were absent, Pyloon raised him on the planet Lateron. Due to her responsibility to care for all of her family, which she did not want to do and constantly complained about, she taught herself how to cook well. She passed down various culinary secrets to her great-grandson as well as recipes for several meals, including her "famous" casserole, an umberhash, and Protato Namba patties.
Pyloon also taught Greez how to prepare a Braised Shaak Roast stew: first slow cooking a Braised Shaak Roast prepared the previous night, then simmering the broth throughout the day, and finally collecting fresh ingredients from a farm before combining it all. She had died long before 14 BBY.
In 14 BBY, Dritus was reminded of Pyloon while talking about cooking with his friends Cal Kestis and Cere Junda on the forest planet Kashyyyk. While the crew was traveling aboard their luxury yacht, the Stinger Mantis, Dritus often called back to her recipes and their relationship. During one instance, he remembered his great-grandmother fondly and described her as the only real family he had ever had, as his parents were not present in his life.
After the crew split up, by 9 BBY, Greez moved to the planet Koboh, where he opened a cantina, "Pyloon's Saloon," in honor of his great-grandmother. Junda financed 2,000 credits for Pyloon's Saloon, which Greez considered repaying by making her one of Pyloon's casseroles. Inside the cantina, he hung a portrait of Pyloon titled "Beloved Pyloon."
Dritus considered the cantina's bartender droid M-6NK, nicknamed "Monk," as having upheld Pyloon's legacy through his hard work. After having commended Monk for this on one occasion, the droid stated that Pyloon clearly passed on a few things to Dritus and jokingly stated that Pyloon's imprint on Greez was not limited to their shared complaining.
During this time, when Kestis and Greez reconnected and were present in Pyloon's Saloon, the Jedi asked Dritus about the Protato Nambo patties he was preparing. The conversation eventually shifted to Pyloon, and Dritus explained to Kestis how Pyloon had taught herself cooking.
The great-grandmother of Greez Dritus was first mentioned, albeit unnamed, in the 2019 video game Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order, developed by Respawn Entertainment. She was first identified as Pyloon and pictured in the 2023 sequel, Star Wars Jedi: Survivor. During the development of Survivor, narrative director Manny Hagopian suggested that Greez name his cantina after his great-grandmother. As Dritus's great-grandmother's name had not been established in Fallen Order, Respawn's writing team allowed Hagopian to name Pyloon after the narrative director's own late grandmother.
