The A280C blaster rifle, alternatively known as the A280 C heavy blaster rifle, represented a specialized modification of the well-regarded A280 blaster rifle. It was the weapon of choice for Rebel Alliance Special Forces personnel, boasting a rapid firing rate, substantial firepower, and a robust construction.
Before its adoption by the Alliance to Restore the Republic, the A280C blaster rifle—also referred to as the A280 C heavy blaster rifle—was one of BlasTech's best-selling combat blaster rifles for almost a century. Prior to the Clone Wars, numerous planetary defense forces and private militias utilized the A280C as their standard infantry rifle. Despite its considerable weight, the A280C maintained accuracy and durability, continuing its service throughout the Outer Rim Territories. Virtually every military [academy](/article/academy], militia, and military organization trained with the A280C before the Clone Wars began.

The A280C's prevalence declined as the Galactic Republic transitioned to more adaptable weapon systems. Following the Republic's transformation into the Galactic Empire, the Empire absorbed or dissolved local defense forces, leading to the decommissioning of many A280Cs. Consequently, these weapons flooded the secondhand and black markets, eventually becoming standard issue for the Alliance to Restore the Republic. Bounty hunters and commandos employed by the Haxion Brood also used this blaster rifle.
In Star Wars Battlefront II, the visual representation of the A280C is the same model that was previously used for the A280 blaster rifle.
