Amity

The Amity, a Starhawk-class Battleship Mark I, saw action with the New Republic Defense Fleet in 5 ABY during the Galactic Civil War. Its service ended at the Battle of Jakku, where it met its demise.

Description

Constructed by Nadiri Dockyards, the Amity was a Starhawk-class Battleship Mark I. Classified as a battleship, it possessed a distinctive hatchet-shaped bow. Starhawks, including the Amity, were uniquely built using salvaged Imperial starships. The Amity's hull, primarily grey, featured subtle yellow and blue accents. As a Starhawk-class vessel, the Amity was armed with a powerful, forward-facing tractor beam powered by magnite crystals, enabling it to capture and control vessels significantly larger than itself.

History

The Punishment collides with the Amity, destroying both vessels.

Following the Battle of Endor, the Amity was among the initial Mark One Starhawks commissioned by the New Republic for its Defense Fleet. Along with its sister ships, the Concord and Unity, the Amity participated in the critical Battle of Jakku in 5 ABY.

During the engagement, the Amity was positioned on the port flank of the Starhawk Concord. These three Starhawks formed the vanguard of the New Republic's assault against the dense Imperial Star Destroyer defense perimeter over Jakku. The Amity was obliterated when the Star Destroyer Punishment, under the command of Captain Groff, collided with it. The resulting explosion consumed both vessels.

Behind the scenes

The first appearance of the Amity was in Chuck Wendig's 2017 novel, Aftermath: Empire's End, which is the concluding book of the Star Wars: The Aftermath Trilogy.
