Anaxes asteroid belt

The Anaxes asteroid ring, also referred to as the Anaxes asteroid belt, constituted an asteroid field situated within the Azure sector of the Outer Rim Territories in the galaxy. Its genesis occurred after the planet Anaxes suffered cataclysmic destruction following the conclusion of the Clone Wars. Fort Anaxes, a disused Galactic Republic military installation originally located on Anaxes during the Clone Wars, was found on one of the asteroids there, specifically the planetoid PM-1203.

Description

The Anaxes asteroid ring, also known as the Anaxes asteroid belt, represented an asteroid field that was located in the Azure sector's Azure system within the Outer Rim Territories. This asteroid field, positioned along the Perlemian Trade Route, originated from the fragmented remnants of the destroyed planet Anaxes and served as a habitat for fyrnock colonies.

Despite its nature as an asteroid field, several asteroids within it possessed minor atmospheres, notably the planetoid PM-1203 which contained Fort Anaxes, a former Galactic Republic military outpost. Another planetoid, PM-6986, also existed within the field, housing a former Separatist stronghold.

Behind the scenes

The Anaxes asteroid belt made its debut in "Out of Darkness," the seventh installment of the first season of the Star Wars Rebels animated series, which initially aired on November 3, 2014. Later, in Dawn of Rebellion, a 2018 supplement for the Star Wars Roleplaying game series by Fantasy Flight Games, the asteroid belt was identified. The reference book Star Wars: The Visual Encyclopedia from 2017 alternatively referred to it as the Anaxes asteroid ring. The 2022 immersive experience Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser, which takes place between The Last Jedi and The Rise of Skywalker, situated Anaxes within the Core Worlds.
