Ars Dangor

Ars Dangor, a human of male gender, held a position of authority within the Galactic Empire's Ruling Council. During the period known as the Clone Wars, he worked as a Senior Advisor to Supreme Chancellor Sheev Palpatine, occasionally fulfilling roles such as a bureaucrat, emissary, or dignitary on Palpatine's behalf. On one occasion, he went to Geonosis alongside Janus Greejatus, Sly Moore, Sate Pestage, and Lieutenant Commander Orson Krennic to observe Poggle the Lesser's return. Dangor was seated with the other Republic representatives in the Petranaki Arena as Poggle addressed his fellow Geonosians. During this address, Dangor voiced his concerns to Krennic, expressing his fear that they might become easy targets.

Following the rise of the Galactic Empire, Dangor took a seat on the Imperial Ruling Council. In this capacity, he served as an adviser to Emperor Sheev Palpatine. He sported lengthy, braided mustachios and prominent, lined eyebrows. Despite his generally somber expression, Dangor's distinctive facial hair added a touch of flair to his appearance. Like his fellow members of the Imperial Ruling Council, he was often seen wearing colorful robes and wide-brimmed hats.

In 5 BBY, he received an invitation to a dinner party hosted by Perrin Fertha, much to the dismay of his wife, Mon Mothma. Mothma was upset because he and Sly Moore had closed the Ghorman shipping lanes the previous day, an action she believed would result in widespread famine.

Behind the scenes

Ars Dangor was officially integrated into the Star Wars canon universe through James Luceno's 2014 novel, Tarkin. The character's original inception occurred in the Star Wars Legends short story titled "Imperial Spin," featured in the 1989 sourcebook, Imperial Sourcebook.

In 2003, a photograph featuring five of the Advisors from the 1983 movie Star Wars: Episode VI Return of the Jedi was featured in an article that was published on StarWars.com. The accompanying text identified them as "Sate Pestage, Janus Greejatus, Sim Aloo, Ars Dangor, and Kren Blista-Vanee," who were described as being among Palpatine's Inner Circle. The short story "Kernels and Husks" later confirmed that Dangor was indeed one of the advisors appearing in the film.
