In 32 BBY, the Trade Federation initiated a preliminary action in their grand scheme to invade the planet of Naboo. This involved an assault on a sensor array positioned close to the city of Kwilaan. Raymas Daal, a Trade Federation operative, orchestrated this assault by enlisting a team of agents, whom he convened at a restaurant within Kwilaan.
Following an altercation with three Royal Naboo Security Forces officers who had been monitoring Daal's movements, the agents proceeded to the sensor array on the subsequent night. Upon arrival, they confronted four Palace Guards and two technicians, successfully neutralizing them to disable the array. Capitalizing on this opportunity, the Trade Federation strategically deployed jamming satellites around Naboo. These satellites would later be instrumental in severing Naboo's communication lines once the invasion commenced.
In the year 32 BBY, the Trade Federation was formulating a plan to first blockade and subsequently invade the planet of Naboo. As a preliminary step before initiating the blockade, the Trade Federation devised a strategy to disrupt Naboo's communication network through clandestine operations targeting several sensor arrays. A minor Human criminal figure, Raymas Daal, was contracted by agents of the Trade Federation to discreetly disable sensor arrays. This would enable the Trade Federation to deploy jamming satellites within the Naboo system undetected. He also received funds to recruit freelance operatives to sabotage the arrays, including one situated near the city of Kwilaan.
Daal, recognized for his dependability, arranged a rendezvous with a group of agents facing financial constraints at a Kwilaan restaurant. Upon arriving at the designated restaurant, the agents discovered that Daal was absent. Just as they were about to depart, he made his appearance, eager to conclude the meeting swiftly, suspecting he was being followed. Daal proposed a payment of 8,000 credits to the group for temporarily disabling the sensor array for a few hours. He claimed his motive was to smuggle a shipment of rare spices past the array to evade taxes and increase profits.

Following inquiries from the agents, Daal clarified that the array needed to be deactivated on the following night. He would then detect the deactivation and land his ship within Kwilaan. The group posed questions regarding the assignment and received sufficient information to locate the array. The conversation was abruptly interrupted by the arrival of three plainclothes Security Officers from the Royal Naboo Security Forces, who intended to apprehend Daal for questioning regarding his suspected ties to the Trade Federation. The Human leader of the group requested Daal to accompany him, but instead of complying, he abruptly jumped up and fled through the rear exit. The officers opened fire at Daal, with one of them aiming their blaster pistol at the agents. After subduing the officers, the agents proceeded to the sensor array as planned on the following night.
Upon reaching the array, the agents incapacitated the four Palace Guards present and dealt with the two technicians stationed at the array to facilitate its deactivation.
With the successful completion of their mission, the Trade Federation was able to deploy their jamming satellites. The agents then set out to locate Daal and claim their promised reward.
Daal was later taken into custody by the Royal Naboo Security Forces for interrogation. Subsequently, the Trade Federation initiated their blockade, encircling Naboo with Lucrehulk-class freighters. After a month had passed, the Trade Federation commenced landing operations on Naboo in response to the presence of Jedi ambassadors. Trade Federation Viceroy Nute Gunray issued an order for all of Naboo's communication channels to be immediately disrupted. They utilized their jamming satellites along with attacks on transmitters located in various Naboo cities to isolate the planet from the broader galaxy.

The assault on the Kwilaan sensor array is the central element of the Star Wars: Invasion of Theed Adventure Game scenario titled "Signal Interruption," authored by Jesse Decker, illustrated by Adam Hughes, and published on the Wizards of the Coast website on August 9, 2001. "Signal Interruption" is designed for use with the game pieces from the Invasion of Theed Adventure Game and is written assuming the group is heroic and sympathetic to the Naboo, while also providing suggestions for dark side characters. Players have the option to use the existing playable characters from the Invasion of Theed Adventure Game with minimal adjustments: Dané, Galak, Rann I-Kanu, Arani Korden, Rorworr, Deel Surool, Toba, and Sia-Lan Wezz.
"Signal Interruption" is structured around three encounters. The initial encounter involves the players meeting with Daal, with the suggestion that if players are hesitant to accept Daal's offer, he may increase the payment to as much as 10,000 credits. The second encounter focuses on the confrontation with the three Security Officers at the restaurant, where players have the freedom to choose how to handle the situation, with the suggestion that players aligned with the dark side can swiftly resolve the encounter by drawing their weapons as soon as the officers reveal their blasters.
The assault on the sensor array itself constitutes the third encounter. Players have the option to either approach the guards stealthily or engage them directly in combat. The scenario describes the technicians inside the array as unlikely to initiate an attack unless provoked, and even if attacked, they are more likely to attempt to flee unless their escape is blocked. The scenario suggests that players could continue the story within the Invasion of Theed Adventure Game, or the game master could create original adventures involving Daal and his secret backers. "Signal Interruption" specifies that groups with heroic characters could strive to undo the damage they caused, while dark side characters could continue working for the Trade Federation, potentially attracting the attention of the Trade Federation's Sith benefactor, Darth Sidious. This article assumes that the events of "Signal Interruption" unfolded as described in the text.
