Axela Zin was a Human female hailing from the isolated planet of Kesh. She held the rank of Sith Saber within the Lost Tribe of Sith. She bore a son who, by the year 43 ABY, had risen to the rank of Sith Tyro. Zin was selected by Grand Lord Darish Vol alongside Lady Olaris Rhea to be part of a strike team tasked with locating Ship, a Sith Meditation Sphere, and hunting down Jedi Grand Master Luke Skywalker. As part of the group searching for Ship on the planet where the Sith had tracked the Meditation Sphere, she met her death when the jungle's plant life turned against her.
Axela Zin was a Force-sensitive Human female originating from the distant world of Kesh, found within Wild Space. She underwent training in the dark side of the Force as part of the Lost Tribe of Sith, a Sith group marooned on Kesh since the era of the Sith Empire. Zin successfully completed her training with the Tribe, achieving the position of Sith Saber. Furthermore, she was the mother of a boy who had become a Sith Tyro by 43 ABY.
In 41 ABY, Ship, a Sith Meditation Sphere, made its way to Kesh and began aiding the Tribe in constructing a new Sith armada. Two years later, in 43 ABY, and shortly after the Tribe sensed the presence of Jedi Grand Master Luke Skywalker, Ship suddenly departed Kesh, drawn by a call in the Force. Grand Lord Darish Vol and Lady Olaris Rhea chose Zin to be a member of the strike team whose mission was to locate Ship and capture Skywalker. Zin journeyed with the strike team aboard the warship Eternal Crusader, following Ship to a planet located in the Maw. Upon arrival, Zin was selected to join the landing party, while the Eternal Crusader remained in orbit under the command of Sith Saber Baad Walusari. As the search for Ship got underway, Zin was almost immediately struck by three thorny branches. Although Zin freed herself using her lightsaber, she was quickly caught by more vines and killed. She died silently, without uttering a sound of pain, and the expedition's leaders, Lady Rhea and Sith Master Yuvar Xal, decided to praise her son for her bravery.
Zin possessed exceptional bravery, which was evident when she followed Rhea's commands, remaining calm and silent even as she was being killed by the trees. Zin was honored for her honorable passing, and Rhea decided that her son, who was then a Sith Tyro, would be granted the rank of Master upon their return to Kesh.
Zin was Force-sensitive, having been trained in isolation on Kesh in the ways of the Sith. By 43 ABY, she had finished her training in the dark side, earning the rank of Sith Saber. Zin was also known for her strong will, which was a key factor in her selection as a member of the Sith strike team sent to pursue Ship.
Troy Denning, an established Star Wars author, created Axela Zin for Fate of the Jedi: Abyss, the third book in the nine-part Fate of the Jedi series, which was released in 2009.
