This elite task force was carefully selected by Darish Vol, the Grand Lord of the Lost Tribe of Sith, and Lady Olaris Rhea, with the mission of locating Ship, a Sith Meditation Sphere, and pursuing Jedi Grand Master Luke Skywalker.
In the year 43.5 ABY, Olaris Rhea, a member of the Lost Tribe of Sith holding the title of Lady, detected a significant presence through the Force. The Tribe discovered via Ship that this presence belonged to Luke Skywalker, the Jedi Grand Master. Realizing that this Jedi was an obstacle to their planned reconquest of the galaxy for the Sith Empire, Rhea and Darish Vol, the Grand Lord, decided to form a team with the express purpose of hunting down and killing Skywalker. However, Ship, the Sith Meditation Sphere instrumental in the Tribe's creation of a new armada, suddenly departed from Kesh. Consequently, the team's primary objective shifted to recovering the Sith Meditation Sphere, with the elimination of Skywalker becoming a secondary goal.
The task force tracked Ship to a planet situated within the Maw, where they encountered a woman known as Abeloth. Abeloth claimed to have been marooned on the planet for three decades; however, she was actually a powerful entity who had seized control of both Ship and the planet she inhabited. After nearly succumbing to drowning, Vestara Khai, a Sith apprentice, learned of Abeloth's true nature from Ship. Despite her attempts to inform the other team members, they dismissed her claims. Meanwhile, Abeloth used the planet's flora and fauna to eliminate numerous Sith. Upon discovering that Skywalker and his son, Ben Skywalker, were beyond shadows within the Maw, Abeloth permitted the Sith to leave, stipulating that they capture, rather than kill, the Skywalkers. Rhea, however, doubted that Vol would condone this change and reverted the objective back to assassination.

The Sith located the Grand Master and his son on Sinkhole Station, a space station situated in the Maw and serving as the home of the Mind Walkers. The team ambushed the Skywalkers, but the Jedi successfully defended themselves and retreated further into the station, utilizing azetal gas to cover their escape. Meanwhile, Yuvar Xal, a Master, his apprentice Ahri Raas, Rhea's apprentice Vestara Khai, and Sith Saber Baad Walusari devised a plan to ambush the Jedi at a junction within the station, using stun grenades. However, Xal intended to seize control of the task force and, upon the Jedi's arrival, attempted to eliminate Khai and Walusari by redirecting their own grenades back at them. Anticipating such a maneuver, Rhea had instructed Khai and Walusari to deploy fake grenades initially. Enraged by the betrayal, Vestara killed Xal, and Raas, distracted by his Master's cry of pain and surprise, was killed by one of the Skywalkers. The Jedi then killed Walusari, and Luke permitted Khai to strike him with her parang to establish a Blood trail on her. He then incapacitated her and took her as a hostage.
As the Jedi advanced toward the hangar in an attempt to reach their ship, they were ambushed by more Sith. During the ensuing conflict, Khai regained consciousness and managed to escape, but the Jedi defeated the remaining Sith and reached the hangar, where Ben prepared their ship for departure. Meanwhile, Luke reentered the Station, where he confronted the last four survivng members of the strike team. The two surviving males were quickly killed, leaving just Rhea and Khai alive. They dueled with him in the turbolift leading to the hangar. Meanwhile, Ben opened fire on Ship, distracting the two Sith, and allowing Luke to kill Rhea. Khai, the last survivng member of the team, saluted Skywalker and fled. She traveled to Dathomir, with the Skywalkers tracking her using the Blood trail.
The task force was under the leadership of Lady Olaris Rhea, a member of the Circle of Lords, who commanded the Eternal Crusader. Sith Master Yuvar Xal served as her second-in-command in the role of executive officer, although she placed Walusari in command of the ship during the search for Ship on Abeloth's planet, as she trusted the Sith Saber more than Xal.
