Super battle droid rocket trooper

The B2 Rocket Trooper, also designated as the super battle droid rocket trooper or B2 super rocket trooper, represented an enhanced iteration of the B2-RP battle droid. It was deployed by the Separatist Alliance during the concluding phases of the Clone Wars.

Attributes

A B2 rocket trooper cuts into the hull of a Venator-class Star Destroyer.

These super battle rocket troopers were a specialized version of the B2-series super battle droid, representing an improvement over the earlier B2-RP super battle droid. This model was equipped with a jetpack, which consisted of two large thrusters affixed to the shoulders, along with smaller thrusters attached to the droid's ankles. For armament, these battle droids utilized wrist-mounted laser cannons, each featuring four barrels. Similar to the standard model, these droids also possessed red sensors.

Historical Information

During the Battle of Ringo Vinda, B2 Rocket Troopers saw combat. They participated alongside droidekas in a final offensive that compelled the Republic army to retreat, following the killing of Jedi Master Tiplar by the malfunctioning clone trooper "Tup."

Later, B2 Rocket Troopers were tasked with infiltrating a Republic shuttle, working in conjunction with an HMP droid gunship and a contingent of Pistoeka sabotage droids to capture Tup, who was responsible for the Jedi's demise. Four super rocket troopers accompanied the gunship, systematically eliminating the starfighter escort before focusing on the damaged shuttle. The droids breached the cargo hold, quickly eliminating all other clones within the craft, while the buzz droids freed Tup. They successfully delivered Tup to Admiral Trench, and subsequently guarded the shuttle piloted by Kraken until its departure. This model also participated in the Battle of Anaxes.

Behind the Production

Concept art of the droid

The B2 rocket trooper appears as an opponent in the third stage of the Tank Takedown raid event featured in the video game Star Wars: Galaxy of Heroes. Summoned by General Grievous to protect a damaged Armored Assault Tank on Geonosis, the rocket trooper commands a squad of B1-series battle droids.
