Kraken

Kraken, a masculine programming ST-series military strategic analysis and tactics droid, achieved the rank of commander within the Confederacy of Independent Systems' military forces during the Clone Wars. He served under Admiral [Trench](/article/trench], a Harch Separatist, at the battle of Ringo Vinda in 19 BBY, where Jedi General [Anakin Skywalker](/article/anakin_skywalker] destroyed him. Biography

Time on Ringo Vinda

Kraken brings Tup to Trench.

As a masculine-programmed ST-series military strategic analysis and tactics droid manufactured by Baktoid Combat Automata, Kraken held the rank of commander in the Confederacy of Independent Systems' military forces throughout the Clone Wars against the Galactic Republic. In 19 BBY, Kraken was part of the Separatist forces under Admiral Trench that had seized the orbital graving docks around Ringo Vinda. While Trench had previously used a T-series tactical droid as an advisor during the Battle of Christophsis, he chose the newer, superior ST-series for the Battle of Ringo Vinda. Given the complex and ever-changing control of territory, Trench relied heavily on Kraken's support.

During the battle, the Republic's momentum faltered when clone trooper Tup executed Jedi Master Tiplar due to a premature activation of Order 66, forcing a Republic retreat. Kraken subsequently informed Trench of this event, and Trench instructed him to contact Count Dooku, the Separatist leader, to report on the battle's developments.

Following their discussion, Dooku ordered that Tup be brought to him on Serenno, tasking Kraken with personally overseeing the clone's retrieval and transport. With Tup in custody, Kraken departed for Serenno aboard his Maxillipede shuttle, only to be intercepted by Jedi General [Anakin Skywalker](/article/anakin_skywalker] and two clone troopers. As Skywalker and the clones boarded the shuttle, Kraken managed to attack the Jedi, but Skywalker dismembered him, demanding to know why the Confederacy wanted Tup. The super tactical droid stated that he was programmed to resist intimidation, leading Skywalker to destroy him completely.

Serving under Dooku

Despite being destroyed, the Confederacy recovered and rebuilt Kraken, recognizing the value of super tactical droids. He then served under Dooku during the invasion of Scipio, a key part of the Count's scheme to implicate Senator Rush Clovis in the downfall of the InterGalactic Banking Clan. During this invasion, Dooku ordered Kraken to eliminate the Republic forces on the planet's surface, placing him in command of Dooku's personal flotilla while Dooku executed the final phase of his plan on the ground.

Shortly after, a Republic fleet commanded by General Skywalker engaged the Separatist fleet. Upon returning to his command ship, Kraken informed Dooku that they were engaged with the Republic fleet and suffering significant losses. Dooku then ordered Kraken to withdraw their fleet, which Kraken questioned, pointing out that their droid forces were still engaged on the surface. Dooku insisted, forcing Kraken to reluctantly comply and abandon those forces.

Following the Battle of Scipio, Kraken continued to serve Dooku. During Grand Master Yoda's quest, Darth Sidious, the Dark Lord of the Sith, contacted Kraken aboard Dooku's command ship, instructing him to inform Dooku that his presence was required on Coruscant. After delivering the message, Dooku instructed Kraken to inform Sidious that he would arrive shortly. Kraken's service to Dooku concluded when the Count transferred to the Providence-class Dreadnought, Invisible Hand, just before the Battle of Coruscant.

Characteristics

Kraken, commander in the Confederacy military.

Kraken, a ST-series military strategic analysis and tactics droid with masculine programming, stood at a height of 1.94 meters, equivalent to six feet and four inches. He featured green plating adorned with a distinct swirling gold pattern, along with three yellow [sensors](/article/sensor]. His hands were equipped with magnatomic grip panels on the palms and inner surfaces, enabling him to easily handle weapons, tools, and equipment designed for organic beings without slippage. Despite his compliance, Kraken occasionally hesitated to follow orders from superiors, such as Dooku's command to retreat from the Scipio system while their forces remained engaged on the surface. Similarly, during the Battle of Ringo Vinda, Kraken questioned Trench's decision to personally deliver Tup to Dooku on Serenno, fearing the Republic blockade. Nevertheless, he proved a valuable aide to the Harch admiral.

Skills and abilities

Kraken was equipped with armor, advanced strategic programming, and demonstrated effective leadership. He was also programmed to resist intimidation and interrogation, a trait that ultimately led to his decapitation by Anakin Skywalker after declaring his resistance to intimidation.
