Bartokan V was a world of the terrestrial type, a planet located as the fifth orbital body from its central star system. This world was the home planet for the sentient Bonbrak species, whose members communicated using the Bonbreez language. Furthermore, the massive Svor Clan, who held the Bonbraks—known by the clan as "barat-karabak"—in the position of gods, also made Bartokan V their home.
The clan once petitioned the Galactic Republic to grant the barat-karabak protected status as a species, and this request was eventually granted by the governing body. During 230 BBY, the Shani singer Crufeela shared information with Jedi Padawan Ram Jomaram—a friend to several Bonbraks—regarding the species' place of origin and the Svor Clan residing there. This occurred when Ram brought Crufeela a Bonbrak for her to eat, as a component of a scheme intended to exclude Crufeela from participation in the annual Finance Ball held on Core Worlds planet Corellia.
The world of Bartokan V received a mention within the pages of The High Republic: Midnight Horizon, a young-adult novel released in 2022. This book was penned by Daniel José Older and published as part of Phase I of the Star Wars: The High Republic multimedia initiative.
