During the Gungan tribal conflicts on the planet Naboo circa 3000 BBY, a significant battle unfolded within the devastated remains of the city Otoh Sancture. This clash pitted the Militiagungs, led by their Boss Gallo, against the bursas operating under the influence of Boss Rogoe. The catalyst for this conflict was Gallo's prior neutrality in the ongoing tribal war. Rogoe, secretly orchestrating the war, orchestrated the destruction of Otoh Sancture, Gallo's home, as a consequence of his non-alignment.
Gallo survived the city's obliteration and swore vengeance while simultaneously seeking to rebuild. He gathered an army within a nearby forest, using it to slaughter the bursas and obliterate their nesting grounds. Following this victory, Gallo forged an alliance with the renegade Captain Marsune, and together they successfully united the remaining Gungan tribes against Rogoe, whose life was ended during the Raid on Spearhead.
In 3000 BBY, during the war that engulfed the Gungan tribes of Naboo, the planet, Boss Gallo of the city Otoh Sancture distinguished himself by maintaining a neutral stance, refusing to engage in hostilities with his fellow Gungans. Given Gallo's substantial power, Boss Rogoe of Spearhead, the war's secret instigator presumed dead or mythical by other Gungans, deemed it necessary to eliminate Gallo before he could potentially choose a side. Thus, he commanded Gallo's demise.

On the day of Otoh Sancture's Sacred Feast, Rogoe deployed his militiagungs to unleash wild bursas upon the unsuspecting city. Gallo, adhering to tradition, had left the settlement to gather provisions for the Sacred Feast, and therefore, he was absent when the bursas launched their attack. The creatures left a trail of devastation, demolishing every structure and killing every civilian, transforming Otoh Sancture into a desolate wasteland.

Witnessing the destruction, Gallo fled northward into the forest, riding his kaadu and accompanied by the five nerfs he had collected for the feast. During his escape, he stumbled upon the base of the rogue Captain Marsune, and his gang. Gallo sought assistance, but the captain scoffed and refused. However, he did trade four worker glurrgs for the nerfs Gallo had acquired. Continuing through the swamp with his new companions, Gallo observed several militiagungs from Spearhead guiding wild bursas. Confronting them, one of the militiagungs revealed Rogoe's involvement.
Enraged, Gallo vowed to exact revenge on Rogoe for the massacre, informing the militiagungs of his intentions before proceeding with his glurrgs. Reaching a clearing abundant in resources like nova crystals and ore, Gallo resolved to rebuild Otoh Sancture in honor of his fallen people. He initiated construction with a command center, enabling him to summon additional glurrgs to erect prefab shelters in support of a Gungan army recruited to reclaim the ruins of Otoh Sancture.

Leading ten militiagungs and twenty kaadu-mounted troopers, Gallo crossed a river into Otoh Sancture. They engaged and eliminated several bursas. Numerous bursa nests obstructed the path to Otoh Sancture's ruins, which Gallo and his soldiers destroyed. With the entrance secured, they battled the remaining bursas within Otoh Sancture, obliterating all of their nests.
Marsune arrived at Otoh Sancture, expressing a change of heart and a desire to join Gallo's mission to defeat Rogoe. Collaborating, Gallo and Marsune successfully unite the other Gungan tribes against Rogoe, including Otoh Jahai, Otoh Langua, Otoh Raban, and Otoh Urs. The allied Bosses eliminated Rogoe during the Raid on Spearhead, and Gallo established a new capital named Otoh Gunga atop the ruins of Spearhead. Approximately three millennia later, these wartime events were documented by Boss Rugor Nass, a descendant of Gallo.
The battle of Otoh Sancture was initially referenced in Star Wars: Galactic Battlegrounds: Prima's Official Strategy Guide by Steven L. Kent, released on November 7, 2001, before its appearance in the LucasArts video game Star Wars: Galactic Battlegrounds, which was released on November 11, 2001. Within the game, it is featured in the first level of the Gungan campaign, "Otoh Sancture," where the player assumes the role of Gallo and executes the assault on the bursas.
