During the Imperial Era, a group of marauders known as the Bedlam Raiders operated from the planet Koboh. Their name was shared with the enigmatic planet Bedlam. The Gen'Dai Rayvis and the fallen Jedi Master Dagan Gera jointly commanded this group.
Rayvis utilized both force and diplomacy to unite various independent gangs and mercenaries into the cohesive group that became the Bedlam Raiders.
By 9 BBY, the Bedlam Raiders primarily operated from a crashed Lucrehulk-class LH-3210 cargo freighter named Primacy, which served as their main base on Koboh. They also maintained a presence on the planet's Shattered Moon. The Raiders controlled a dormant army of Clone Wars-era battle droids, including B1-series battle droids, B2-series super battle droids, BX-series droid commandos, droidekas, IG-100 MagnaGuards, and vulture droids, all held in stasis.
In 9 BBY, Cal Kestis, a surviving Jedi Knight, crash-landed on Koboh. He soon discovered the Koboh Abyss and its potential route to Tanalorr, a possible sanctuary for those fleeing the Galactic Empire. Cal's quest to traverse the Koboh Abyss led him to significantly weaken the Bedlam Raiders, ultimately killing both Gera and Rayvis, their leaders. Subsequently, the remaining Bedlam Raiders and their battle droids formed an alliance with Jo the Cannibal and the Haxion Brood, seeking revenge against Cal for the deaths of their leaders. However, Cal defeated them all, including Jo. Following this, the Empire swiftly filled the resulting power vacuum on Koboh by increasing its military presence there.
